I have switched to a satellite internet service Hughesnet Any suggestions as to how I can resolve this problem since I do not have wired internet service available.

Due to the fact that I reside in a rural area and can not get decent internet speed any other way. At the time that I signed up for Ifit to use with my Nordictrack treadmill I was not informed of the fact that Ifit would not work with a Satellite based system. Thanks Tim Rathman ([email protected])

SOURCE: Hughesnet satellite internet We have Hughesnet internet service, the basic service, Gen 3, I think, and it is terribly slow. The company always says to upgrade to Gen 4 or 5.

Change companies. Dish or directv. Spectrum is the best deal if available.

Testimonial: "Dish and Direct both use Hughesnet, and we don’t have access to Spectrum."

What is the default Password for Hughes Net Router? Can't find the papers on it..Hughes H1100 is on the front of it..

Did you mean HT1100? If so, here's the manual:
http://customer.kb.hughesnet.com/Documents/1039650-0001_a.pdf
But that's a satellite modem, not a router.

Here's some evidence that HughesNet routers have:
Username: admin
Password: password (or 1234 on older routers)
http://customer.kb.hughesnet.com/pages/4933.aspx

Maybe what you have there is an Allwin H1100 VoIP gateway/router.

Why not ask HughesNet for the default password?

Im having problems playing online games with my ps3 i can get online but cant play games. is it because i have hughesnet or is there something i can do?

A lot of people have problems playing online games with satellite internet. The problem is that while your download speed is usually okay, the upload speed to the satellite is too low and the latency (the time between when your computer sends a message and the satellite relays it to the other party) is way too high.

Unfortunately, you probably will not be able to play any kind of PS3 games online via HughesNet. Computer browser-based games would likely be okay, but your latency will be too high to connect to any PS3 game servers.

Good luck, and hope this is helpful!

I upgrade to 200 pro with 400mb but my hughes net meter to be the same as before. my downlowable time remain the same.

Speeds (uploading and downloading) may vary based on several factors such equipment, line-of-sight (dish to satellite), your Internet package, other users, and FAIR USAGE POLICY. Have pasted the fine details below.

*Speeds
Speed comparison based on 53 Kbps dialup. Actual speeds may vary. Uninterrupted use of service and speeds are not guaranteed. Usage is subject to the Fair Access Policy. Listed speeds are available only through Hughes' SpaceWay satellite. Most subscribers will have access to the listed speeds.

The Power 200 service plan is only available through the new HughesNet satellite. Approximately 1% will not be able to receive the Power 200 plan as a result of trees or other obstacles that block the signal from the satellite to the home.

Actual upload speed will normally be lower than speeds indicated during peak hours. Download speeds may also be temporarily slowed in cases when patterns of system usage exceed the download threshold for an extended period of time. See the HughesNet Fair Access Policy for more information.

**Download Threshold
Each plan is subject to a daily download threshold as follows: Basic 200 MB, Power 150 300 MB, Power 200 400 MB. 50 MB per day additional Download Allowance can be added to any plan for just $10 per month.

+Equipment
Provided HughesNet equipment may be new or refurbished. Any refurbished equipment will have the same warranty as new equipment. In the event that you elect the purchase option, and the equipment installed at your location is refurbished, we will provide you with a $25 credit on your first Service invoice.

The speed difference between their packages is only 50Kbs. May be difficult to read. May wish to use third party Internet speed rater - www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

I HAVE HEGES NET CABLE

I can't find anything called "Heges Net Cable." If you mean HughesNet satellite internet, I can tell you this unit is not compatible with HughesNet -- it is for telephone-based DSL networks only.

I am hooked to hughes high speed when go on line and go to modern warfare 2 and join the game my man wants freeze up for about split second all through the game it takes about 4 seconds to even to reload .

Hughesnet isn't the greatest for attempting to play online. Even though it is better than dial up, it isn't a consistent speed, and you will run into lag and timeout issues along with the occasional freeze.

I am using hughesnet dish high speed internet running windows vista poor sound and delay with magicjack any help thanks. The phone service from the magic jack recieved sounds like poor connection when...

Actually with hughesnet its a common issue as it is satellite based service & gives high latency. What you can try is to contact your phone support & ask them if static ip address is going to give any help, as when you have dynamic ip address, your ports changes leading to more latency.

I have hughesnet on my desktop and am trying to link a satellite L355/S7915 to the internet with a D-Link WBR1310 without using a cable is this possible if so how do i do it

Make sure the ip address is not the same as the Hughesnet ip address. The ip address for the Hughesnet is 192.168.0.1. If the D-link is the same you must go in and change it. You will also need a wireless card to go into your desktop to make it wireless. Hope this helps!

I have satellite internet.I have a belkin router. It doesn't work on satellite. What kind of router do I need.I have a emachine with windows xp.I also have a hp with windows xp.I would like to get internet...

XP does not necessarily automatically configure for wireless. https://www.lifewire.com/automatic-wireless-network-connections-xp-818243

Currently, the only companies offering satellite internet are HughesNet and Viasat. Both providers lease modems with built-in Wi-Fi routers to their customers.

While you must use the modem issued by your satellite internet provider, you can use any router you choose. Using an alternate router might enhance your network's performance, but if you'd rather not mess with it, the modems you get with HughesNet or Viasat both come with built-in Wi-Fi routers.

In order to ensure you get the most out of your Internet experience, HughesNet has developed these minimum requirements:
  • Windows 98SE or higher (including VISTA) or Mac OS 10.1 or higher, and
  • Network capability (10/100 Ethernet pre-equipped)
  • Not finding what you are looking for?
