Just bought a JVC LT-32C660 Smart 32" LED TV. When we turn it on at the mains the 'first time installation' comes up with select your language. It is not responding to the remote.

Or buy using the television model, not by remote model. Walmart carry them. Check model number carefully when looking at Amazon and eBay listings.

Hi, I could not find the user manual of your JVC LT-40DG52J, you should have the TV a way to enter the menu and make the changes you need
What if I have found a sale publication of the replacement of the remote control of your JVC

You need to select HDMI input.

To set language to English:
[1] Press the MENU button
[2] Press CH UP or CH DOWN button To LANGUAGE.
[3] Press => or <= button to select English language.
[4] EXIT when finished

Timer
Press the MENU button
Press Up or Down button to select Tmer ON/OFF
Set it to OFF.
Press => or <= button to save settings.
OK.

Enter in the user mode select the sleep mode time and select the time OFF(15-30-...minutes).

1. Hold [menu] and [vol-] button on the side of the TV
2. while holding these, press the [power] button on the side of TV (NOT remote)
3. blue light comes ON and stays ON
4. wait 10 seconds then let go of [menu] and [vol-]
5. wait another 30 seconds and some type of picture should appear

I think this is right. I got it from the JVC call centers guys so sorry if I missed or messed up a step.
