As long as both ends have composite (RCA style) jacks, it is a simple matter of matching colors. The color of the cable is irrelevant, as long as the same color jack is connected on both ends. If one side is composite and the other side is not, you will need a converter to get it to the correct port type. If this does not answer your question, try adding pictures of the connectors of the two items you are trying to connect.

How to add external rca jacks to the output

To connect your audio receiver to your Proview 3200 flat screen TV, you can use RCA cables. Here are the steps:

Locate the RCA jacks on your TV and audio receiver. One jack is white, and the other is red.
Plug the white RCA cable into the white jack on the TV and the red RCA cable into the red jack. Reversing them will cause the stereo signal from the TV to be incorrect.
Take the other end of the RCA cables and plug the white and red ends into an available RCA input on the back of your audio receiver.
If your TV doesn't have RCA jacks, you can use a digital-to-analog audio converter to connect your TV to a 5.1 audio system that has only RCA inputs 1. You can follow these steps:

Unbox the digital-to-analog converter.
Connect the optical cable to the converter.
Connect the RCA cable to the converter.
Connect the other end of the RCA cable to an available corresponding analog audio input on your audio receiver

Want to connect pc speakers and subwoofer to lg37lc55 tv unfortunaly it doesnt have an earphone 3.5 connection point. My other smaller tv does, the speakers and subwoofer consist of a white and red audio...

Hello,
Your TV should have an AUDIO OUTPUT other than optic..at least " Headphones" output..
You can connect TV audio output with a RCA cable.
white and red audio jack....
since SUB has both RCA and "3,5mm Headphone female Jack"..here are the options;
** you need to buy a cable one end 3,5mm MALE headphone jack and the other end 2xRCA stereo (or 1x RCA for mono or you may need "Y cable " ) to be connected to your TV...
** or 2x RCA
white and red audio jack and connect from your TV..
**" "Headphones" output to SUB with 3,5 male-to-male cable ( the least recommended)
And you need to connect front, centre and rear speakers to your SUB as well...
Take care and if it succeeds please Remember to rate/vote and give me 4 Thumbs Up
for Helping out the Community :)

Hope this helps!

Trying to set up digital set top box to our old LG tv model no CF-21F80KX . Have red white and yellow on set top box and 2 white and 2 yellow on back of tv. Kerrie

The RED and White RCA jacks on the set top box are for Right and Left channel audio to go into the TV Video 1 or Video 2 input jacks of the TV. The Yellow jack is for the Video, that will go into the Yellow jack on the TV Video 1 or Video 2. If you want to use Video 1 INPUT, then all 3 jacks (RED, WHITE, YELLOW) will be use. Just match the color, they should be grouped together per each set of input on the TV.

I hope I explain it well enough.

I no longer have the manual for the product and I want to hook it up to my TV via a cable box; we have Charter cable. The cable box is a Motorola and it says Dolby digital on the front of the cable box. ...

The white, yellow, and red RCA phono jacks on the back are called VGA inputs and outputs. The Red is
right channel audio, The white is for left channel audio. The yellow is the video. Look carefully on the back of the unit and the input jacks and output jacks should be clearly marked.

There are several other input/output ports. One is HDMI which is flat and wide. Another, not common, is composite video which uses the three above mentioned RCA jacks as indicated plus two more colored jacks. This combination gives a better picture.

A third option is a screwed on cable for input and output. This is called a "F" connector and is only used if the receiver equipment has a built in tuner. The output of a cable box is usually an "F" connector and the above described outputs

If you connect the cable box to the DVD player input and the DVD player output to the TV input, you often must have the DVD player turned on so the signal will feed to the TV.

If the TV has multiple inputs, it is best to connect the cable box to one of the TV inputs and the DVD player to another TV input. Using the TV remote you can chose which input you want to watch. The remote should have a button labeled "input"

Got cox Digital cable box today, cox can not tell me how to hook up to box to make it rec/play. Info I read old cox papers from 2002 says I need a vcr controller, Cox does not know what that is and it...

For a standard VCR which is what most people have, all you need to do is connect a yellow RCA cable for video from the yellow output jack on the cable box rear panel to the VCR's yellow video input jack on its rear panel. Next connect a white RCA audio cable from the cable box white RCA output jack to the VCRs white RCA audio input jack. You can record a cable show by selecting the LINE input on the VCR and selecting the TV show on the cable box.

Now for playback, connect the VCR to your TV. Connect a yellow video cable from the VCR's yellow output jack to the TV's yellow video input jack. Same for the white audio connection. Select on the TV, the source input for the VCR. Its not complicated and you should not need any other devices for a standard setup with a digital cable box and vcr.

Is the RCA F20625 a digital television?

Unlikely. If the TV supports digital, it will have an HDMI or a DVI jack on the back. Red-Green-Blue jacks are not digital. Yellow-Red-White jacks are not digital.
Will it show you a picture from a DVD or a digital Cable box? Sure, if the TV has the right connectors on the back.

I just purchased this tv. I had no trouble hooking up the satalite cable box but When I hooked up the dvd player the picture is only in black and white. How do I fix this?

Are you using component video (red/blue/green) rca jacks, or composite video input (yellow) rca jack? You need to match the color but watch out and do not get confused with the red and white RCA for audio.

Quasar tv atenna/connector broke on tv

Yes if your cable box has RCA yellow, white, red, outputs on it and your tv has RCA inputs on it you can hook it up that way. It'll only cost you one set of RCA cables which are not expensive at all.
