Skoda Octavia 1.8 turbo PETROL Auto management light on was intermittent but now permanent drives fine except a few shudders going up steep hill but was low on fuel almost to start of empty red line

It I notice also makes a low alarm type noise around the charcoal filter could this be the problem? I can buy it cheap but concerned I case big problem, what keeps a management light to stay on as no warning Red lights on thank you

generic,
see that hot first radiator hose. big one?
that goes right to the the thermostat housing
and the ECT will be near there, screwed in with 2 wires min.
in most cases..
find out what engine it REALLLY is, and google photos of THAT engine
and find this out. easy.

95 Landcruiser Turbo warning light comes on under heavy load

If you are "lugging" the engine, you will get increased exhaust temperature (EGT), this will trigger your "turbo" light(not a good thing), ideally you should have an aftermarket "pyrometer" fitted to your car, this will show you the optimum revs etc you should be using in any given circumstance.Or revise your driving technique, ie change down gears earlier.
The turbo should be idled down after long trips or heavy towing, this allows the oil temps to stabilise and turbine speeds to stabilise, thus idle for 2-5 minutes.
