I have a 1994 Tigershark Daytona. It has two carb. It has 2 cycle oil in the intake below the carbs. Is this normal for that model?

It is oil injected and if it has been sitting for a long period of time the oil will seep into the intake. This is common on older watercraft. When you get it initially started it will make a huge cloud of smoke and take a few minutes to clear up( burning the excessive amount of oil)

The oil tou see under the exhaust is normal.make sure air filter is clean.you should put a new fuel filter on.it is important to not run it with fuel filter off it will **** up any dirt that is in the tank and end up in the carb.you are probably going to have to rebuild the carb and clean it out .

Engine speeding up on idle is normally due to an air leak, check the carb securing screws are tight, if you have a leaking crank seal it will be a shop repair.

Triumph daytona 1200 95 running to rich loads of black smoke

hi,first place i would look is the choke circuit of the carburettors,if the bike has a cable fitted to the choke make sure that the cable operates freely, and returning fully to the off position, also check that the lever that the choke operates (on the carb)is returning to the fully off position, failing that, you may have to remove the carbs from the bike and check that the plunger(which is operated by the choke cable)inside the body the carb has not jammed inside its casing, failing that, you may have to have the carbs serviced by someone with a syncronizer to optimize the fuel air ratio, sometimes the mixture screws in some bikes have been known to alter with the vibration etc of normal operation,i would say that it is definatley a carb/choke/mixture problem that will not be to expensive to put right..hope this helps...cheers ian

You might have a bad coil. Under a load the coil might preform well, but under no load, its weak causing a misfire...thus giving you a rough idle. I have had this problem on a few vehicle. Check plugs, wires, and distributor. Mike.

I have a 96 daytona and it sounds like i have a

Does the bike still have the stock pipe and air intake system? Have you made any other changes? The problem definately sounds like jetting, and if any of the above items have been changed, you absolutely need to rejet for them. Since the miss is at low RPMS (<4500) You may be able to adjust the air screws and help it, but think more realistilcally I would look at the primary jets size and go up one. You may also have one carb with a clogged primary jet. This can also cause what you describe. Best wishes!

1994 Chevrolet S-10, won't start. The fuel pump tests fine. Have checked all the relays we can find. Starter will fire, but acts like it isn't getting gas.

Have you checked the injectors (depending on modle) or the needle in the carb to make sure it's not sticking. If you have the carb model, pour about I/2 cup of gas into the air intake, assuming you have taken it off first, stand well back and turn over the engine. If it fires up, then dies, the carb needle is out, Take the top off the carb and you should see where the needle has been wearing against the carb, you can buy replacement needles for a few cents. if it's the inj model, it's a specialist job to clean the jets out, so you dont damage them, to only cost you more in the lng rn. be careful what ever you do. Carb removal from 1994 VF750C Honda Magna

You should probably get a service manual.
As I recall: Remove seat, gas tank, side covers and brackets, and plastic things in front corners of frame. Take off rubber intake thingy and slide out air filter cover toward the left side (it's a ***** because of the flap in front). Loosen metal intake housing plate, rotate and remove intake horns being careful not to bend the horns or drop screws down carb throats. Slide plate out.
All four carbs come off as one assembly. There are four rubber tubes connecting it to the engine. Loosen the hose clamps on the tubes and gently pry the carb assembly up. Find safe points on the carbs to pry where you won't break anything, and be gentle. If it hasn't come off before it will take some going from corner to corner till it comes out of the rubber tubes.
You can clean the jets without disassembling the "quad pack".
I put a little oil on the tubes to reassemble. Getting the horns back in is a bit tricky. The plate goes on loose, then they slide into the carbs and rotate as I recall. Good luck

Coolant fluid leaking below carberator 1989 dodge daytona

May not apply to yours, but I have seen coolant lines routed under intake (actually through plenum below carb)...the idea is to pre-heat and vaporize fuel to prevent "puddling" under carb. If you look at most v8 engines, exhaust is routed the same way, to do the same job. You may need to use a mirror to see under there to determine exactly what's going thats causing leak.
