My sgh a157v is asking me for a password 4-8 digits long. how do I reset this if I forgot the password?

the default code is the last 4 digits of your phone number unless you have changed it. In that case maybe a retailer could flash your phone back to the default settings.

all you need to do is go to the screen where it asks for your password while your there press select on you controller and then type in 7444 it will reset your password and let you make a new one

yes, Once you supply the IMEI# to Motorola with your full details they will help you unlock it. Often though they want it sent to them as the procedure is not always straight forward.

without SIM press *2767*3855# phone will restart and your Password would be disabled.
