Sounds like on reassembly you reversed wires to door switch.
switch might have letters C NO NC (common, normally open, normally closed) one wire goes to C common, the other to NC normally closed. Try reversing the wires.
If you use meter measuring continuity meter on C and NO should be high resistance until you press switch.
meter C to NC measures low resistance until you press switch then measures high or infinity (open)

Sounds like the problem is in the high voltage. Most common would be magnatron, capacitor and diode. For safety reasons this should be checked by a professional. Look in your owners manual because some high voltage parts have a longer warranty than 1 yr.

SOURCE: JVM1190 wont cook

You have a blown actuator. This is the device that creates the microwaves that cook the food. The cost of one of these will be as much as a new unit.

You have a bad secondary interlock (lower door switch) or its mount is damaged or out of alignment.

We have the service manual for this model and have uploaded it to our site here to help you.

You will need the
free Acrobat Reader to view or print it in case you don't have it.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside.

Door switch or mount trouble is usually caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.

The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly.

Sometimes it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. This tab can be hard to see, since it is under the bottom edge of the switch.

If you only need a switch, you can order a universal type here for $5 postpaid.

Door switches

If one of the door interlock switches is not switching properly or there is a condensation problem on the sensor control panel, either can cause the turntable/light/oven to come on even though the "Starts" button has not been depressed due to the wiring of the switches.
Check for faulty door switches and/or contaminated actuators.
I hope that helps.

The door switches are slightly out of alignment. If you run the microwave and shift the door up or down, the micro might begin working..
The control panel must be removed and the door switches adjusted. I would not suggest you doing this yourself, as it may affect the microwave leakage through the door gap.

My GE 1660 profile microwave oven will not cook or rotate, but the timer reduces in time. I have tried to gently press up or down on the door in case it is a door latch issue with not change. Also it keeps...

Check the door safety interlock switches. If they are burned (because you frequently open the door while the oven is running) they tell the magnatron that the door is open (forget what you know about the door) and not to run that magnatron (which produces the microwaves that actually heat the contents of your oven).

Check the switches with a ohm meter. Remove the cover to find the switches near the door latches.

New microwave GE Profile X acts as if it is cooking, timer counts down, but no cooking

Sounds like a bad door switch or a misaligned door switch mount or door.

Sometimes you can gently push up and down on the handle a tiny bit while it's not running right and et it to try to work.

But since it's new, I would let GE fix it free.
