It won't receive any signal. That's all. Then understand; it is faulty. What else?

Why isnt my HMDI working any more

HDMI ports are known to fail. Test by moving to a different port. If that restores the picture, then you know you have a bad port. If no picture, check the cable with a substitute cable. It's possible that the device you're connecting to the HDMI port isn't producing a signal anymore.

How can you tell if the hdmi ports are bad on your tv ( a cable guy said there was bad)

Connect a good HDMI device to the HDMI port on your TV. Make sure the TV HDMI port is selected using your TV remote. Turn ON the HDMI device. If the port is working, the TV and HDMI device will establish a connection and the screen should show some kind of menu display for the device. Regards.

Panasonic PT47XD64J Rear Projected TV

I know this sounds crazy but unplug everything in the HDMI ports. This series of Panasonic TVs have had many problems with bad HDMI ports. If there is a device plugged into one of the blown ports the power light will blink and the TV will refuse to power on.

If it comes on plug in devices one by one. You'll be able to isolate the bad port. Just refrain from using that one from now on. There's not much else you can do. There are HDMI splitters available if you need all your ports. It's an extra step but it's certainly cheaper than buying a new TV.

Just set up RX-A700 two things seem wrong. 1. HDMI 1 won't show video if HDMI is plugged in, once plug on HDMI is removed from receiver HDMI 1 works perfectly. 2. HDMI output needs to be held tight or else...

sounds to me like a bad HDMI cable. Just replace it.
If HDMI still wont show, move to another HDMI port. But based on having to hold HDMI cable with hand to steady the connection, it is either a bad HDMI cable, or a bad HDMI port on the receiver. Good luck

My hdmi port is not working

I have Verizon Fios and there's a known issue with the motorola HD boxes that they have bad hdmi ports, the screen goes green and that's it, nothing I can do about it I just use component cables. You need to be sure it's your tv not the cable box. Try the hdmi on a dvd player or ps3 or whatever else you have first just to be sure it's the tv at fault not the cable box. If you determine it is the tv you need to replace either the main board or the video board depending on your specific tv model. Some have the video inputs on the main boards some have video boards.

How would i know if my HDMI ports are working or not?? Tried to connect a PS3 to it but nothing. Thought it may have been the cable so checked someones that i know is working and still nothing. Checked...

As you already checked PS3 and HDMI cable,
select HDMI input in TV and connect PS3 via HDMI cable. TV should show PS3 picture.
And if still no joy then HDMI input port in TV is bad and need to replace input board/ main board.
