2005 quattro , battery is dead and hood wont release.Is it an elecrtonic release?

    "Next. Replaced the battery but now seems to need some codes reset. Power windows don't work , power mirrors don't work, top doesn't work and airbag light is on . Any suggestions to reset the codes. Can't put windows down ."

    Heidi, sorry I do not know the reset procedure, you could try google search,check your manual or ask the dealer.

Heidi, No electric release. The latch is probably stuck. While you pull the interior hood release have an assistant push down and pull up repeatably/vigorously until hood releases from stuck position. Lube latch and cable before closing hood. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck

    Most towing services or a locksmith may be able to help you out, tell them of your situation when you call, then they can bring required tools and materials to get hood open, so as not to waste your or their time. Good luck Press the helpful button if you feel I was of assistance.

Safety catch on hood wont release and hood wont re latch!
I would check to see if the hood release moves when the inside lever is pulled then pushed, if not the cable and latch mechanism may need lubrication or be broken.

01 chrysler sebring convertible dead battery car wont unlock with key
try to reach up under the front of the car with your arm and try to locate the latch with the hood release cable attached to it. Use your fingers or plyers to manipulate the latch to release-pull on the cable. You may have to remove the grill to access it.

My battery is dead. The key is stuck in the off position and not coming out. My hood release by left steering wheel does not release anything and I can't figure out a way to get my fingers to the release...
Sometimes it helps to have a helper standing at the end of the hood, as you pull the hood release mechanism inside, have the helper pop the hood with palm of hand in area of release mechanism. I haven't looked to see if you could remove front grille?
If there is a national brand autostore in your community, they have been known to make house calls. Possibly, they could raise your hood, replace the battery or give it a charge, whatever. I don't know what they charge?
Sometimes you can charge your battery by hooking up battery charger to battery cable at your starter motor?

THERE IS A PLUG THAT CAN BE PURCHASED AT SOME AUTO PARTS STORES. IT HAS A DOUBLE-ENDED CIGARETTE LIGHTER PLUG. THIS CORD CAN BE USED TO BOOST A CAR'S BATTERY. Hood latch release cable broken
ok if you can access the end of the cable from inside the car try using a set of vise grips to hold it and carefully pull to open the hood. if you need to access the latch from the grill its a tight squeeze but I recall that a thin screw driver was able to move the lever to release the latch. see the attached pic the unit is upside down try to push the lever towards the drivers side http://www.worldimpex.com/assets/partimages/043694.jpg

Hood on my 1999 Ford Mustang Gt Will not release and my Battery is dead.
try to have someone outside of that car and push down and pull up on the hood as you pull the lever..if the lever is broken off u can use a pair of pliers to pull the wires that pop the hood..you might have to strip off some of the black insulation good luck
