2005 quattro , battery is dead and hood wont release. Is it an elecrtonic release?

Heidi, No electric release. The latch is probably stuck. While you pull the interior hood release have an assistant push down and pull up repeatably/vigorously until hood releases from stuck position. Lube latch and cable before closing hood. I have a 2001 Audi

I recently tried the DIY service and repair manuals from a website and it actually helped me repair transmission problem in my jcb 3cx site-master. It would'nt move forward or reverse, engine was good both solenoids for forward and reverse worked, but still couldn't diagnose the problem. I don't have much technical knowledge but I just followed it step-wise, and now it works perfect! covers wiring, codes, diagrams, torque specs, PCV, everything got it from www.reliable-store.com

Engine sputtering

Try the mass air flow sensor. While it's running smooth tap the sensor gently to see if it replicates the poor operation or shudder. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/howard_977676954994c5b2

Heater not working well

flush out the engine. use a hose pipe and flush engine out, take both heater feed pies off and go back and forward with the hose pipe on them until water is clear. then test by blowing down the pipes both ways after blowing down them back flush them again. refit every thing and fill the system.leave the rad cap off. get engine up to temp when fan kicks in. have the heater on full wile doing this. squeeze pipe as engine warms up to temp to help get the air out. keep topping up the water keep it at hand hose pipe or watering can. when up to heat turn off engine. if engine fan stays on remove the fuse for it as you need the engine to stay hot. when engine is cooled down top up with antifreeze. not mixed stuff full on strength type. then it should be fine for another year or so. always remember even in summer when its hot always use the heater even just for 5 minutes will help stop this same in winter with a/c. every now and then just turn it on.
