It is very dependent on your vehicle and whether you are using the built-in amp of the head unit or a separate amp. Ideally, I would recommend a good 6.5" component set.

Need to know what type of speakers this needs

It doesn't need speakers. This unit is just a CD Changer. It needs to be connected to an amplifier and the amplifier is what determines the speakers.

More info on pg. 83 of manual.

PS - as this is a home hi-fi and not a car-radio, I've moved it from 'Cars & Trucks' to a new home 'Audio Players../Pioneer', where experts in that field can offer more help.

Pioneer VR605 worked fine the moved it to another room and now no sound. None from any input. Any advice???

Check tape monitor switch, speaker switch(es), or any switch that may have been accidentally moved during the move.

Try headphones to make sure your amps are working.

I only have one speaker working in my 07 trailbrazer and some times it doesnt work any idea why

likely the speaker is blown, otherwise it is a wiring problem, or the player/deck is faulty. replace the speaker. get a good aftermarket pioneer is my advice, if a shop does it they will ensure the wiring is hooked up properly. if it is still a problem after, replace the deck.

I have aquired this unit, and when I turn it on, no sound out of either two of the speakers when the volumn is turned up. Any advice before I start trying to chase down the problem?

I would go thru the menu functions to be sure the speakers are turned on first.
I would also check the pre outs to be sure they are functioning , then maybe just use them (plugged into an exterior amp).

PIONEER 300 WATT CAR STEREO AMP WIREING HOW TOO

depending on how many channels the amp is, you may not be able to hook everything up to it.

usually you have a separate amp for subs. 4 channel amp for the speakers in the car, and a mono amp for the subs.

To hook them all up to the same amp you would need an amp with 5 channels. It wouldn't work out right.

If you have a mono amp its only for subs.

If you have a 2 channel you can either hook it up to the rear speakers or bridge them to mono to run the subs.

you need a channel per speaker basically.

New Radio too powerful for 15 Watt speakers?

Hello mike_mccuske,

The OEM speakers will still work OK with your new Pioneer. Just don't turn it up too loud. Of course you'll get improved sound if you replace the speakers. Your Pioneer's RMS power is 14 watts, and the peak (maximum) power is 50 watts. The door speakers in a 2000 Honda Civic are 6.5" and you can get a set of Pioneer speakers, the TS-G1642R's, from Crutchfield for less than $50. Their RMS power range is 2-30 watts and they can handle a peak power of up to 180 watts.

Hope this helps.

No Audio when disconnect from external amp and hook to speakers

In a radio like your Pioneer and all similar units there are always a pre-amp circuit that feeds a power amp circuit,In some players there are more than one pre-amp circiuts. It is possible and highly probable that the power amp circuit in your Pioneer is shorted, so you still get some audio output , but very little. I believe this is your problem and I suggest that you bring it to a repair shop for an estimate or replace the unit. Good luck and please rate this answer, Thanks.
