SOURCE: Lenovo S series ideapad will find my dlink router no network addr
Generally if you can see the D-Link then everything is trying to talk. Would have to know if the d-link is new out of the box or is part of an existing setup. If the d-link has been part of the network I would suggest that you don't have the security settings correct. If you right click on the network icon and look at the send received numbers. If received is zero then your problem is you don't have the security key (WEP or other type)) setup. If you are getting recieved numbers you may not have the DHCP setup in the d-link. DHCP assigns the numbers to the computer but the d-link has to have this turned on in some models others it is by default.
If both your laptop and dlink are not new and specifically about a year old then I would also suspect that the dlink has died or is dieing on you. If you have had periods of disconnects or slow jerky network acess then these are signs of the dlink having problems. The wireless part tends to go after a year or so while the wired portion probably still works. When they go they are annoying as they work then they won't and so on.
That is you next step to try is to plug in your laptop direct to the wired connection on the dlink to test if the problem is the wifi portion of the dlink. If it connects your problem is the wifi and you probably will have to replace the unit. Next plug it into the cable modem and see if the problem was in the dlink itself.

try removing the battery and removing the adaptor press and hold down the power button for 5-10 seconds then let got this will power drain your system board noy turn the system on using the battery only without any adaptors to charge or power the system, try turning the system on if the system turnes on leave it turned on for a couple of hours then conenct your sysem adaptor monitor if the battery light and the battery indicator on the lower right of the screen in windows woll indicate that the system is chargin if it is then I believe everything should be fine the blue indicator is for your system if it is blue then your system is turned on and has power if it turned orange and blnking then the battery will be more likely be almost out of juice or may need charging.

Hi There!
Welcome to FixYa,
First off, if you're trying to restore this computer back to factory defaults, then the system should be turned off before pressing the OKR (One Key Recovery) button. If it fails to work (or nothing happens), then the partition where it originally resides has been corrupted over time.
The only way for you to get this resolved is to obtain a "Recovery CD" specifically for Y510. You can do it by contacting their helpdesk support and ask for the disc to be delivered to you. I have to set your expectations that their usual charge is (usually) close to $50.
I hope this helps and Thank you for using Fixya.
Just go to Settings>PC Settings>Update and Recovery>Recovery
Make sure you have all your data backed up on your external hard drive as all the settings will turn to factory as if it is a new PC.
