You need to program one remote with a different code, power off or unplug one of the receivers. Go to the other receiver and hit the system info button at the receiver. Now read the remote code at the bottom of screen would be a number between 1 to 15. Program the remote for a different code than what it shows. Push and hold down the sat button on the remote and leave go light will blink, enter code say 14 and the pound key. You will see the light blink 3 times on the remote. Now that code is entered in the remote now with that system info screen up on the tv watch at bottom where code is and hit the record key on remote and you will see it change to 14. All done . now just plug back in your other receiver.

We just dvrs hooked up a few weeks ago.when I am recording somthing down and my daughter goes upstairs to watch her tv and tries to change her channel to watch somthing a message comes up on the tv that...

Hi, poog_23350, I caught your post! How a Duo DVR receiver works is that the TV you have it set to record on will not allow you to change the channel while the recording is in progress. The other TV, that isn't recording anything, can be used freely to flip through channels.

In this case, it's TV2, the one upstairs in your daughter's room, that's currently set to record on while the downstairs TV is free to use. This can be adjusted by pulling up the Main Menu with the Menu button on the remote, selecting option 8, then option 5, and changing the TV1/TV2 setting there on the Record Plus screen.

If you'd like a receiver capable of allowing channel changing while recording a program, our VIP 612 receiver is a Solo receiver that acts like a Duo. What this means is that it has one TV output and two tuners. Along with being able to change channels while a recording is in progress with this type of receiver, you can also record two programs on two different channels simultaneously.

Hope that helps!

How can I move a receiver to another room that has . For example, downstairs i have my two receivers with 1 DVR that controls 2 TVs the one downstairsTV#1, and 1 upstairs TV#2. The other dish, controls TV...

Hey there! Becki Barned from Dish Network customer service here!!! If you want to do this! You would need a tech to come out and install the DVRs in the new rooms. If you try to move the reveivers, you will only get an Acquiring Satellite Signal message. If this has not been resolved, you can find us on Twitter, or blog back!

check that you have the sender plugged into the sky box and the receiver into the required tv and not the other way round. The wrong way round still allows the controller to change channels but you will see nothing also ensure that both sender and reciever are on same channel 1 to 4

Hi, I have a digital tv plugged into an extension cable in an upstairs (Toshiba) bedroom; it works perfectly - receiving all channels. I have a digital tv downstairs (Samsung) where it seems the wall...

Hi Fiona
Somewhere along the line from the aerial there must be a signal splitter that feeds the upstair and downstair terminals.
Try to find that splitter and switch the output to see if the problem goes from up to downstair.
If it does switch then you know the problem is with the splitter block, and if it stays the same then the problem is with the cable and/or the connectors that run downstairs.
Also the reason you get a pixellated(snowy) picture is because of signal loss during the length of the cable you ran downstair.
If running a cable downstair becomes the best option to fix your problem , then you could buy a cheap 10db signal booster/r.f amplifier to correct the signal loss and a cable splitter to feed both tv`s
That booster would be installed upstair in your case(near the source of the signal to be amplified).
I could send you a small diagram if need be. Hope this will help and Merry Chrismas

We have a tv upstairs and one down stairs, they

Since the antenna is on the roof the signal has further to travel to get to the downstairs antenna and as a result the signal is weaker. Install a device on the antenna line before the first TV called a signal booster. This unit plugs into the wall and gets connected to the antenna wire too. It will improve the signal for both televisions.

Playing vcr causes new digital tv to lose saved channels

Vizio representative suggested connecting antenna directly to TV and not through the VCR. In doing this, we lose the ability to record on the VCR but we record elsewhere and watch downstairs. The problem is solved on losing channels. I must add that we watch and record on a Sharp digital TV upstairs and do not lose channels. I don't know why the VCR had this effect on this Vizio TV.

Problem connecting to my network

What I would do is replace the wireless router with a 4 or 5 port switch to control computers (devices) downstairs. Or, if you need wireless access, purchase only an access point to cover downstairs.

This way the wire from upstairs goes directly into the access point and you have wireless access downstairs.

And yet another way would be to purchase Airlink 101 PowerEthernet boxes ($54.99 each) and use those to connect an access point anywhere in your home that has an outlet.

Sky upstairs

Yes on the back of the box there is a RF2 output...

run a coaxil aerial cable from there to your required TV, you then need to tune the 2nd tv to the sky box.

You can also buy a 'Magic Eye' and a 'extra remote' this will allow you to change channels from the second destination with only 1 digi box.

Down point is that you have to watch the same channel on both tv's.

a second card and box and a dual LNB will allow you to watch seperate channels.

What type of digital tv signal? Satellite or OTA (Local Digital Antenna Channels)?

What type of equipment is the split signal going to? Straight to the tv's or some sort of Satellite or HDTV Tuner box?
