I had set up my WiFi local network and have two notebooks connected to it fine for over a year. Suddenly, the WiFi network is intermittenly showing up (mostly not showing up) in my list of available networks. I can see my neighbor's wifi networks showing up fine, just not my own.
I have my local wifi set up with automatic access, but even when it shows up, it's not connecting automatically.
I've tried 3 times to connect manually and it looks like it's trying to connect but then nothing happens.
is the wireless part of the router bad?
I am currently connected via a hardwire....
thanks
Robert
I've been having the same problem where even hard wiring to the router won't work. I called USR and they had me reset to factory defaults. Now three days later, the same behavior is happening. I reset to factory defaults and it works again but I don't know for how long. Maybe these things just wear out after a while...who know.
Usually this is because of radio frequency (RF)interference. Typically, if you have three devices that are working correctly for over a year then it is none of these devices...it is something else. Did you get any new electronic gadgets (Blue Tooth, portable phones, wireless anything) when this started to happen? It is probably something in the area of the router that is interferring with the WIFI input and output.
Solution: move the WIFI router away from the device that is causing the interference as far away as possible.
Also, it may be caused by a device on you...new cell phone, new Blue Tooth that is causing the interference. Try removing or turning off all these devices and see if that doesn't help.

I am having the EXACT same problem. No new equipment in my house of note....I can't even connect wirelessly when my computer is RIGHT NEXT to the router....so I doubt it is interference of any kind.
Tried
I have the EXACT SAME problem. No new equipment in the house and the wireless won't even work when my computer is RIGHT NEXT TO the router.
I've tried resetting and rebooting the router to no avail. My only conclusion is that the wireless part of the router is dead or dying.
I'm calling USR tomorrow.
i cant connect my wireless routerĀ
TABLET RECOGNIZED MY NETWORK, SHOWS EXCELLECT IN STRENGTH, BUT WILL NOT CONNECT, IT DID CONNECT TO ANOTHER NETWORK THAT WAS NOT PASSWORD PROTECTED
