All you need to know is the e-mail address you used to open your Amazon account and your password. If you can't access your Amazon account give them a call and they should be able to help. You can always open a new account if there isn't a good reason to connect to your old on e.g. prime or pre existing kindle library.

It sounds like you may have lost your Wi-Fi for a moment. I would try it on a wired PC and if that doesn't work you can call Amazon's Kindle Help line.

How do I deregister my kindle fire tablet
In your Amazon account, ( If you don't have one, create one) simply login and click on the "Manage your Kindle" tab on the right of the screen, and then select the "my devices" option, where you can register or deregister your Kindle.
