lines on a plasma tv can be cause by a few different things. One of your buffers might be bad. The logic board might be bad. Or your tv screen coldu be bad. The only way to find out is by replacing the boards or the screen.
hi all .ive had the same problem,a thick black line down
screen.sometimes it flickers from top to bottom and other permantly in
view.but i have solved it.forget your ic boards and taking apart tv.have
you got either a ps3 or wii connected to tv.if so unplug power lead
from socket and relocate in seperate socket.make sure the lead is
completely free of any other leads and you might just find this works.i
think the power lead creates some sort of frequency that the tv picks up

You can either have a bad Y-Upper buffer board, or dirty contacts on the plug associated with the horizontal line. Best to have a service company look at it.
