Starting at the outlet, follow power into the machine. If you are getting power past the circuit breaker and in to the power board, chances are your lower board is toast. The only solution is to replace the item with a new or known good used board. The following links will take you to a video on how to use a multimeter to verify power. Video about Multimeter Testing

My pre or C964i is displaying "stuck key" , it appears to be the reset button which also has a slight tear in it. Any advice?

If your Precor C964i treadmill is displaying a "stuck key" error message and it seems to be related to the reset button, here are a few steps you can try to address the issue:
  1. Power cycle the treadmill: Turn off the treadmill and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again. This simple power cycle can sometimes help reset the system and clear temporary errors.
  2. Clean around the reset button: Use a soft cloth or cotton swab to gently clean around the reset button and the surrounding area. Dust, dirt, or debris might be causing the button to get stuck or not register properly. Ensure there are no obstructions or residue that may affect its functionality.
  3. Inspect the reset button: Check the reset button carefully for any physical damage, such as a tear or debris lodged underneath it. If there is a tear in the button or it appears to be damaged, it may need to be replaced. Contact Precor customer support or a qualified technician to obtain a replacement button and guide you through the replacement process.
  4. Reset the treadmill: Some treadmill models have a reset function that can help resolve minor issues. Refer to your treadmill's user manual or contact Precor customer support to find out if there is a specific reset procedure for your model. Follow the instructions provided to perform a reset, which may help clear any error messages related to the stuck key.
  5. Contact Precor customer support: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it's advisable to reach out to Precor's customer support for further assistance. They can provide specific guidance based on your treadmill model and help troubleshoot the problem. They may recommend additional steps or advise on whether a technician should be involved to repair or replace the reset button.
When contacting customer support, provide them with the specific error message, details about the tear in the reset button, and the steps you have already taken to address the issue. This will help them provide more accurate assistance and solutions tailored to your situation.

The incline on our Precor c964i is stuck in a high position (approx. 10% incline). Other than being on a high incline, the treadmill seems to be working fine.

Hi There,

Precor uses a pair of Triacs to drive the lift up and down. These triacs live on the lower board but are driven by the upper console commands via a serial link between the upper and lower. Most precor lift issues we see are related to the lower board but with Precor it could be an upper board or the CPU Chip that resides on the lower board or a failed Triac. Good Luck

My precor 517.1 elliptical does not turn on

I would start the troubleshooting process by confirming power at the wall outlet. If this checks out, follow power from the wall to the end of the cord. If you still have power at the end of the cord, check the power inlet. If you still have power on the back side of the power inlet, you may be looking at a bad control board. Error code 1 and 3 on my Precor 9.21s treadmill?

Precor Error 01, Memory, RAM, EEPROM Test Error Probable Cause This error message almost always indicate an upper PCA problem when they are consistently displayed. Failures causing this error message to be displayed are rare.
Corrective Action If the error message is consistently displayed when the unit is powered up, the upper PCA should be replaced. It is possible to see this message displayed intermittently due to external causes. If the units A.C. input significantly dips during the power up test sequence the test could fail resulting in this message being displayed. Treadmills operating on non-dedicated A.C. circuits may see this message displayed on an intermittent basis. Precor Error Code 01

Precor 9.25i treadmill running backwards.

The power leads Black/red will determine the direction that the motor will turn. If the leads have been switched to the wrong terminals at the lower PCA it will run backwards even if the black and red line up when the motor is plugged in. Check to see if the power cable on the lower board is in the right configuration. I've seen the terminals get switched when a new lower board is installed.
