Got a Mac Allister Mpwp130FTP 1800W pressure washer, and cant figure out how to connect the hose to the trigger at the back of the washer,

There are several common different types of quick release couplings in the power washer world and while it is possible you have the wrong lance and hose supplied with your washer, it is unlikely.

Many quick release couplings don't just connect by pushing but have a sleeve that must be pushed forward, pulled back or twisted or a button to be pressed. Mostly diy level washers have the lance, hose and connector as an assembly and the connector can't be replaced.

Most towns contain many businesses that use heavy duty pressure washers, vacuum cleaners, parts washers and suchlike and inevitably other businesses spring up to cater for the needs of local business providing a wide range of repairs, spare parts and accessories and they of necessity gather a wide knowledge of domestic equipment.
If you have trouble or doubts I suggest you locate such a business near you...

Dyson DC07, is it possible to clean inside the circular sleeve (the one with holes) that is accessible when the shroud is removed to facilitate emptying,

I remove the complete cyclone/bin and hose it down with high hose pressure in all holes until you see no more dirt. Do not do this to the vacuum cleaner! Then dry it for a couple of days making sure it is completely dry before use. This gets rid of pet odour. Replace the post motor filter if this needs doing as it will be blocked.

Doesn't seem to be travelling around the pool as good as it originally did. it is approx 15 months old

I have owned 2 phantoms over 5 years. Most likely the problem is with the hose. The Phantom's hose will invariably need repairs over time. The hose swivels break and leak causing the pressure to drop. Even one leak will cause the cleaner to slow substantially.

The pressure gauge that came with the cleaner is very helpful. It will tell you if it is a pressure issue or the cleaner itself. Check your hose swivels and joints to look for leaks. Next check the filter screens (one near wall and one in the back of the cleaner). Finally, look at the hose's connection to the wall. The culprit is likely one of the above hose related issues.

My washer does not spray the cleaner solution as high as it did originally. The high pressure spray is fine.

If your pressure washer works like ours, it has a T connection.
A plastic hose comes off the T and goes into the bucket of cleaner
Pressure from the hose creates suction across the T and this draws cleaner into pressure hose
The plastic hose from cleaner connects to a small brass ball valve on the T
The ball valve clogs up or changes over time and cleaner will not draw up into the pressure hose.
We would replace the valve stem
I don't know if they sell the little replacement parts like they used to

Finally we had so much trouble.
We started applying our chemical with a pump-up sprayer.
For us, it was cheaper, and the work went faster.
We put one guy on the pump up sprayer
And then another guy came behind him on the washer.

Will not go in reverse

If you still have good pressure to the pool cleaner itself than the back-up valve mounted on the hose needs to be replaced. If you have low pressure then check the metal screen(usually found at the pool wall inside the wall fitting). Also check the hose itself for holes and check the sweep tail for holes.

APC Legend II "tail doesn't move"

. lay the unit on its side on the deck and then turn on the booster pump there may be a hole in the side of the hose where water is shooting out and you may be able to cut the hose a little shorter then re attach it soo the hose is no longer losing pressure from the worn out portion on hose cause by wear and tear. if hardly any water is comming out of the end of the tail whip and there are no leaks on sides of hose. check to see if the adjustment screw needs to be adjusted also look inside the hole of the end of the hose fitting itself preferably while unit is on and pressure is going thru it stick a salfety pin or water pick into the hole there maybe a piece of dirt or plastic chip blocking the hole you may need to remove the hose and force water backwards thru the hose to get the piece that is blocking the water out
