Zodiac BARRACUDA G3 IN-GRND CLEANER Questions & Answers
Barracuda Zodiac G3 is not pulsating. It's got
either some debris is caught in the diaphragm or it's deformed enough to render it inoperable. Unthread the nut just above the handle and pull it apart, then push the white tube downward until it comes out of the bottom of the unit. Inspect the diaphragm to see it there is any debris in it or if it is deformed. Usually the diaphragm has a uniform opening, if the gap is wide, it will not function. The most common problem is that the diaphragm needs replaced. Hope this helps.
Bubbles from water return inlets
its not uncommon to get some bubbles when using sectional hose as there are 12 connections that must be tight (but usually leak a bit). if you have access to a regular one piece hose, try using that to see if the problem corrects.
these machines are horrible for diaphragm problems which is why there is usually a big bin of replacements at every pool store. even though there is no tear, the rubber may have stretched or become rigid (water balance causes this)
Hello i have a the
Try adjusting the
pool cleaners weights. A properly balanced hose will make the cleaner sit at a 45 degree angle when attached to the pool floor. If the cleaner is rising off the pool floor from the front of the cleaner first, move the weights closer to the cleaner. If the back is rising first, move the weights further back. You might also need to add a hose weight (part #W83247). The only other thing that you can check is your water flow. If you do not have adequate water flow, the cleaner will not perform properly.
Does not clean the whole pool
may need to re-weight it or add helpers.
I had to add a rope system to my pool to get the creepy crawly to all the spots.
Not the best fix - but keeps the pool clean.
My bottom cleaner keeps getting stuck in a particular corner, how do I correct this?
since this cleaner works on the principal that if run long enough it will clean the entire pool area, there is no real way to control its movements. try removing one length of the hose. this will change the pattern of the cleaner. you can also change the flow rate of the water and if you are using a weight, change its position. try only one fix at a time so you know which is working
How to adjust flow keeper
that is usually an indication that there is suction loss or the diaphragm is again damaged. good water chemistry will lengthen the life of this part.
When the pool pump is working water flows freely
If you are seeing air bubbles in the leaf pot on the pump, you have an air leak on the suction side somewhere between the pump and the pool. Check the pump lid o-ring for any dirt, leaves, etc. Make sure the O-ring on the lid is not cracked, dry (lubrication like Aladdin's Magic Lube) or compressed or flattened. Also check your union or threaded connections to the pump suction (end) to insure they are tight and sealed. If this is an in-ground pool, and equipped with valves to control skimmers and bottom suction, close each valve separately to see if the air bubbles diminish. If the bubbles diminish when the valve is closed, then the air leak is in the closed section from that valve back to the pump. If the air leak increases, the air leak is in the still open line. Since the Kreepy crawly works on suction and increases the vacuum, the air leak will become more apparent, resulting in a loss of pump efficiency and flow, resulting in lost performance on the cleaner. If so equipped, close off the bottom drain valve and increase the suction on the vac line. I can provide further details as needed, but will need more information from you regarding actual equipment layout.
How can I keep my cleaner from unthreading
get the tape that goes on plumbing fixtures,, wrap aroung threads and tighten,, in addition I found a waterproof tape at home depot and I wrapped the entire outside of the part that comes loose and have had it in my pool now for over 3-4 months and nothing comes loose,, try it as works for me
The bottom part comes loose after 3-4 hours of
I put several layers of Teflon tape on the threads in hope this will solve this problem. My barracuda G4 is several years old and just started doing this in 65 degree pool water. The cold could be causing some shrinkage So far it has helped.
