Droid z992 shows restricted number rather than my name on recipient phone. How do I fix this.

you would need to block you number some how befor you call
or
acsess the recipients phone and change you contact name to restricted number save when you call(restricted number) will be displayed

Are you sure you are using the right PUK? the pin has 4 figures, the PUK is way longer. Both were given together with the SIM. When you used the wrong PIN you can unlock the sim with the PUK code. But the provider from your SIM card, should be able to tell you what PUK goes with your card.

You cannot unlock this phone at free of cost.But you can get unlock code for your phone at low cost from ClassicUnlocking.com here you need to specify your country,Network name to which it is locked,IMEI number of your phone.

FDN(Fixed Dial Number) if enabled, allows you to restrict your outgoing calls to the limited set of phone numbers that are included in the Fixed Dialing Number list.

This means that Fixed Dialing is enabled to certain numbers. You'll have to disable this function in order to call other numbers.

when composing a message, a dialog box appears where you can enter the recipients. just enter the names/numbers of the people that you're going to group text. after typing the first name, scroll down to the next line then type the name of the second recipient/the number and so on.

This can occur when you compose a message and then hit recipient and then enter the contacts name. The phone will say 'Sending' then 'Cannot send/retrieve messages'.If you enter the recipients NUMBER the transmission will work OK.

If you want to send a text to someone by NAME, select their name from the 'Contacts' list then hit the Message icon (envelope). Write the message then hit send...

I am guessing you want to make calls and not have the recipient see your number on caller ID. If that is the case, you can do one of two things. 1) Call customer service to have caller ID turned off permanently. The only problem with doing this is people you call who have in-network minutes will not get the benefit of those minutes because the phone will not recognize your phone as another Verizon Wireless phone. 2) On a per-call basis, dial *67, then dial the 10 digit phone number immediately. Again, if the recipient is a Verizon Wireless customer, s/he will not recognize your number and will not be able to take advantage of in-network minutes. This will work for one-call only. You must do it the next time you want your number restricted.

Go into a new text message and hit the "send to" option. Scroll down to the first name above the line and hit the "options" button. Scroll down and select "Recent messages" and choose whoever from that list that you'd like to be your top 3. I actually just sent all three of mine a blank text, but when I went back to the "send to" list voila! MORE INFO: I tried all kinds of things to remove names from my top three recipients list. What ended up working was to send a text to multiple recipients at once. Two was enough. But it was important who I selected first. I sent a message to my wife and my friend. My wife's name got added back to my top three! Then I reversed and sent a message to my friend and to my wife. His name got added back!
