Samsung 32 LCD TV; Image horiz size is too large overruns screen L-R; See Details for more info What is the root cause & how can it be corrected? Thanks, Steve

Input=cable; via onscreen settings; picture size is set to 16:9 and have reset both ZOOM options BUT Picture image vs screen size is NG L&R & maybe T&B. eg, box scores at Top OR Bottom Left are only half there. Other house TVs similar conditions do NOT have this problem. Samsung online chat gave me no answers.

    rdjagger; good idea but on this Model#=LN32A300J1D have looked but not found any opt to simply adjust HOR or VER picture size (or ASPECT RATIO).
    Using OnScreenSettingsMenu; only (4) active items under OnScreenSettingsMenu>Picture>PictureOptions>Size are:
    >16:9(sets 16:9 format);
    >Zoom1(enlarges 16:9 vertically);
    >Zoom2(enlarges Zoom1 vertically);
    >WideFit[GrayedOut=NotA];
    >4:3(sets 4:3 format);
    >JustScan[GrayedOut=NotA]
    thanks;Steve

Try getting the onscreen menu up and then going to the aspect ratio setting
change that until the picture fits the screen
go -ok then exit

    Bill, Good idea but no ASPECT RATIO item found in Onscreen Settings menu for this Model#=LN32A300J1D (~2010?).

  • Bill Boyd Sep 28, 2015

    talk with a tv repair shop and find out how to change the aspect ratio
    if it is automatic adjustment set by the circuitry then there may be a fault in the system

    Thanks Bill; Should Model=LN32A300J1D be enough for SAMSUNG (or a repair shop) to know "if ASPECT RATIO is adjustable without having to replace defective parts"?

  • Bill Boyd Sep 28, 2015

    I would find an authorized service agent for samsung and discuss it with them
    They would probably have a better knowledge of the problem any way as they are the front line repairers of the product whereas the manufacturer does not get that sort of feed back
    however you can try both options to get different views on the fault

For the first time since i bought my 37 inch 2

nadine2433, First thing to do is check your warranty status! Next thing will be research web for other owner's of same model or the 32' size for similar complaints. Try to find out the "root cause of failure" and see if something seems to "match-up" with your symptom. Yes, your cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamp back-lit lcd tv/monitor is no different than any other brand in it's basic design/operation than any other brand. Yes, plasma types are a little different, but not much. If problem gets worse and happens more frequently, the units internal "switch-mode-power-supply / ccfl inverter supply" would be first place I would investigate for a "thermally intermittant" (cold, frosty looking) solder joint on a active or passive electronic component where it is soldered to the printed circuit board. Nadine, your unit not much different than large screen computer monitor w/speakers, Just has a TV tuner circuit added to it and has remote control!!!! If this response was of some help please rate it on fixya. Do some reading in my fixya profile even though it deals mostly with black or blank n black ccfl back-lit monitors. There are hundreds of excellent ccfl back-lit monitor tech's here on fixya. 12fixlouie

You see cracks in glass that is not generic glass. It is LCD Panel made of new technology.  That glass has few layers and a large amount of liquid crystal dots array built in. There are few polarizer in between LCD Panel. Below is an image having bit details about LCD Panel.
