Re: When I insert a DVD into the player, it says that...
If it does this with multiple different disks then something is drastically wrong with your unit. If still under warranty go for it. Otherwise you will have to bite the bullet since repairs on this sort of gear are not cost effective.

The player uses a laser to check for a DVD. If the laser fails, the player acts like there is no DVD loaded and opens the disc tray so a DVD can be inserted. Sounds like a bad laser.
The laser sensor doesn't detect the presence of the disk. The only thing you can do is to clean the lens: buy and use one of those cleaning disks. If this doesn't fix it then the lens is damaged. Since you can't replace the lens alone you must replace the entire optical unit - this will cost you around $90 part and labor. Try to find out if you can buy an entire new unit for less.
The lens from the reading head is dirty to clean it you go 2 ways;
1 - easy one - not always efficient: use one of those special cleaning disks. 2 - hard way - most chances of success: remove the case and access the mechanism, use a can of compressed air to blow away all the loose dirt (be thorough especially under the lens) then use a q-tip to gently wipe the lens.
sure because a cleaning disk doesnt clean the laser lens at all;you will have to clean by your self using a qtips and wood alcool ;and wipe the lens gently and dot not apply to much pressure on lens while you wipe it.
if it does nt works after that you may have to replace the lens assembly or buy a new one.
hope that will help you

You don't have to use force here u just open top cover detach the dvd compartment and replace the loading tray motor belt they do expand after a period of time thus making the cd tray to open.
This is where u can use your screw driver to remove your cd by opening the screws on the cd cover compartment .
I have got exactly the same problem. Thought I had found some discs that worked as the first one formatted, since then all have come up with that crappy error protection message. Samsung really should sort this out.
This indicates that the DVD Player is unable to detect any disk inserted in the DVD Player Compartment. Check the player using a known playable DVD and Music CD. If these operate normally, the Disk is probably faulty. If the known disk does not play, clean the DVD Laser lens as detailed elsewhere in these FAQs and try again. If unsuccessful, check that the DVD LID is seating properly and latching in the fully closed position. If this does not work and the product is within the warranty period, simply return it to the retailer from where it was bought together with your receipt as proof of purchase. This is what I found about your unit. If it is under warranty, the best thing is to bring it in for repair or replacement. Disconnect the power from the source and hook back up. It may clear.
