I need to find a manual to fix a FV 1000 interceptor timing?

Just got the bike from a guy that wrecked it and tried to put it back together, I noticed that when trying to start it back fired when not cranking. Looked at the pulsar trigger and found that it has been welded trigger, so I know that it has been offand I supect that the entire trigger may have been apart. so I am looking for something that I can find out about the timing from the pulsar to the coil and show the hook ups as I have no idea what else might be out of order.

SOURCE: bike cranks and wont start

Hi .... Sounds like regulator/rectifier is defective. Fully charge battery and try starting again, place multi-meter across battery and it should show 12.8-14 volts. If it doesn't replace reg/rec unit.

The bike has a sidestand interlock that prevents you from riding away with the kickstand down. That interlock is not functioning properly. Could have been bent or moved, unplugged, or perhaps the relay has failed. If physically activating the switch does not work, and connecting the wires with a jumper does not work start looking at the turn signal relay, some bikes have that circuit integrated into the relay.

This may be to the automatic oiler that mixes the oil with the gas. I have a oiler on my 50cc Yamaha Zuma.

SOURCE: timing chain 110 hymoto pit bike

Put the piston at TDC (Top Dead Center) by lining up the timing marks on the flywheel and stator. Put the cylinder head back together with the cam installed so the high points of the cam lobes are pointing kind of downward. Pull the cam chain taught on the front side of the engine. Put the chain on the cam gear such that, when bolted to the cam, the index mark or marks are in the proper position.

The proper position depends on what markings are on the cam. Some bikes have a single mark; an arrow, a straight line or an "O". The mark should line up with the center-line of the crankshaft. If the cam has two marks opposite each other, the lines should be parallel with the gasket surface. You will need to rotate the unbolted cam left or right just a bit in order to match up the bolt holes to the gear holes.

Can I get a “very helpful” rating on this answer?

SOURCE: i need to install a voltage regulator on my sportster.

IT IS YOUR IGNITION MODULE. Drill out the rivits and remove the plate that shows the 5 speed. Then pull out the inner plate and there is the module. Its like 200 bucks but worth it. Then under the bike, there is a plug. Un plug it and cut the cable. Save the pin out on the plug so you can match the new one up. Then reverse the removal for the install and turn the ignition on. You should see a red blinking light on the new module. It will start and you will see a solid red LED. Button it up however you want, just make sure its tight and right.;

The carbs overflows when trying to start the bike

The floats may have stuck or the bowls haven't been put back together correctly. You will probably have to remove and strip the carbs. make sure you make note of everything as you are stripping them. Lots of little bits and pieces which can go back in the wrong way or go missing...

HI THERE....HOW DO I REMOVE THE REAR MOTOR MOUNT FROM THE ENGINE?? THANKYOU SWEETIE, I'M THE CHICK WHO IS DOING ALL THE RESEARCH FOR MY HONEY. THANX SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!

Well, Hello Chickie. I'm the guy giving what I hope is good information to you for your honey. I've got some bad news on this one. To remove the rear engine mount, you have to split the engine cases. You don't know how many times I've seen guys put the engine cases together and leave the rear mount off thinking they could put it on after getting the cases together.

However. Once you take all the cams and the transmission out of the cases, there isn't that much to splitting the cases. One thing to remember however. Look the bolts along the very bottom of the cases. Notice which direction they are put into the case, ie. what side the nut is on. If they are installed backwards, you'll wrestle with the engine for a couple of hours trying to get it back in the frame and it will not go back in because of the bolts hitting the frame. Yes, it is that tight.

Good Luck

Scraping clutch

It might be time to replace the clutch cable, or add lubricant. Be careful not to put lubricant on the handle as you will lose control of the bike. I hope this helps anything.

Second gear jumps had trans replaced once help for bout 1000 mile doing it again what is causing it?

Your mechanic did you no favors. You have a bent shift fork. If the problem was present and was then good for 1000 miles the mechanic removed the fork, bent it back to nearly straight then put it all back together. If he had put in a new fork he would have charged you for it. If he said he could find no problem then how did the problem go away, magic? He probably didn't want to go to the trouble of finding you a new fork since the bike is 13 years old and the dealers wouldn't have the part. The problem will only get worse.

The entire engine comes apart > Head. cam chain, cylinder, flywheel electrics, clutch, oil pump, shifter, gears, shift drum and bad shift fork. This is best done by a dealer. If you try it yourself, be able to put 100 or so parts back together. Go to the site below and take a look in a parts manual. I couldn't find a free service manual for download. Yes, the link says Yamaha but you will change that when on the site.
