Sometimes simply removing the carb and placing it in a carb dip will clean it without tearing it apart, also check or replace the spark plug. Make sure you have compression, good spark, and that fuel is getting to the carb. If that doesnt work, email me and I'll find you a diagram. [email protected]

Weedeater 25cc Blower

Its obviously fuel starvation, start withe the easy stuff first, use a peice of bent wire to hook the fuel line out through the open filler hole, the filter on the end then needs to be pulled off and replaced, try this first before we get into the carb.

Wont start

If the same fuel is in it try draining and re filling with fresh fuel, if no better to rule out an ignition issue, spray some fuel oil mix straight down the carb throat, if it fires up it is still a fuel issue.

My gas trimmer starts but wont stay running

hello sir, my machine will only start when pumping primmer bulb or squirting fluid in the carburetor than stops. the fuel line has broken off, in most small carburetors this is a ongoing problem.old fuel will crystallize when left in tank for a long time.plugging up ports, fuel lines, small screen in carburetor.fuel lines will dissolve clogging carb.this is why it will run when the choke is on creating a vacuum to where there is fuel forced in the carb to rum, also the gas will evaporate leaving the oil behind clogging up carb.the thing to do is remove carb. and clean out, replacing gaskets or fuel line if necessary.use carb cleaner to clean out carb.make sure to make note where fuel line go.the fuel filter broke off of fuel line letting debris get in carb plugging it up.the muffler is known to clog up a lot on these machines where they want run. the compression should be 60 to 120 lbs any thing below 60 is junk. when adjusting the carb screws turn in all the way than turnout 1 1/4 turns turn in slow until machine runs also you need to check for spark by removing plug and grounding against engine to check spark, ok.a new spark plug would be a good ideal too , if you are going to make these repairs use new fuel line and filter, hope this helps, any comments welcome, thank you, !!

Replace fuel lines, craftsman weedwacker, 358.798520 . Fuel lines disintegrated in gas tank. Three parts left in tank, fuel filter and two small plastic hose connecting items. How are these parts related to...

Fuel filter in tank with line going directly to the fuel pump side of the carburetor This is the end of the carb with a solid cover. . This line should have length in it inside the tank where it can flop around and stay on the bottom to collect fuel. The other line in the tank should have one of the little connectors on it and can be right up to where the hole in the tank is to hold it there.. This line should connect to purge/primer bulb on the longer outlet nipple. Another fuel line should run from the metering chamber side of the carb (the end with the hole in the cover) to the purge/primer bulb with the shorter outlet nipple.
The purge bulb "pulls" fresh fuel out of the tank via a vacuum created after depressing the bulb and the fresh fuel flows completely thru the carb and any air or old fuel ahead of it are drawn to the purge bulb which then "pushes" this mixture back to the fuel tank.

How far into the fuel tank does the larger diameter line extend craftsman weedwacker 25cc/1.5cu.in. modeel #358.791010

It should have the little nylon connector on the very end of it at the very bottom of the fuel tank holding it in. You don't have to have the fitting on it. Since it is connected on the purge valve RETURN line, that is all that is necessary..long as it doesn't pull out of the tank...that line staying at bottom of tank keeps more air out of it as it carries old fuel and any air from the carb ahead of newer, fresh fuel entering the carb.

Starts but wont stay running with out the choke pulled out halfway.

Check the fuel lines for cracks/breaks. If they are o.k., then:

You will need to disassemble the carburetor and spray with carb.cleaner. Make sure the small screen is free of debris. (Should be able to see daylight through it.)

Use a Den Tek Brush, (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152),to clean the small portals in carb. These portals can become blocked. Reassemble and start.

If the carb. parts are more than 4 years old, you may have to replace them.

If you need further assistance on:
1. Fuel line replacement or
2. Carburetor kit replacement

Just let me know.
