Your set probably (guessing, since you did not include a model #) has two, one left and another on the right, oriented vertically.

SOURCE: I have an insignia NS-LCD37HD that has backlight

Chec to see if you are getting 12vdc at the T-CON board power input pin first.
First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board.
if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there is some troubleshooting you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having.

If you are going to DIY and have proper tools, electronics knowledge, and know safety precaution then please read on:

SOURCE: sharp Lc-26sb24u white screen with sound

You will get a white screen when you unplug the t-con from the main board. Doing so removes power to the LCD panel. Verify that all of your voltages from the power supply are correct. If they are, I'd look at the t-con board. It sounds like there is a problem with the t-con that is pulling down the main board.

SOURCE: Vizio VT470M no picture, no sound, no backlight. Power supply board looks good all voltages appear correct.

Im having similar problem and with my limited knowledge of lcd tvs and the voltages ALL being good except the pwr on or sw on voltage from the main board to the power supply which tells it to switch everything on Im guessing that something is going wrong on the main board. In the condition where it freezes it (the power on V) which switches everything on i get varied voltages such as 2.5 or 3 or (the normal 5v) and then when nothing powers up (blank screen) i read 0v on pwr on voltage but all my other voltages are corect (24v to inverter, 12 v to main board, 5v, etc.) Im guessing from researching this is that there is in improper voltage somewhere in the main board circuit. I have been unable to find it so i may order another board and post back.

My 40in SEIKI TV turns on and the screen goes black but has sound

Here are a few suggestions for troubleshooting:
  1. Check the connections: Make sure that all the connections between your TV, cable box, or streaming device are securely plugged in.
  2. Check the settings: Make sure that the TV is set to the correct input, and that the cable box or streaming device is set to the correct output.
  3. Check the backlight: Some TVs have a backlight setting that can be adjusted. Make sure that the backlight setting is not turned off or set too low.
  4. Check for a firmware update: Check if there's any firmware updates available for your TV and make sure that it's up to date.
  5. Check the cable: If the cable that connects the TV to the wall outlet is damaged, the TV won't turn on. Try unplugging the TV, waiting a few minutes, and plugging it back in.
  6. Check the T-Con Board: T-Con board is a small circuit board that connects the LCD panel to the main board. It could be malfunctioning, which is causing the image not to display.
  7. Contact the manufacturer: If none of the above solutions work, it may be necessary to contact the manufacturer for further assistance, your TV may require repair or replacement.

Have a seiki tv model se47ky19 with no picture but have sound, can see images with flashlight, can a t-con board cause this problem

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis. http://electro-medical.blogspot.com/
To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

I have a Samsung TV model UN50H6350AFXZA which has sound but no picture. Backlights work. Replaced t-con board with new one, but not fixed. What next?

Main board. T con board is only involved with video issues. Main board goes both ways and since you already replaced the T con board that is your only alternative. U got backlite so inverter board is good.

Se50fy10 backlight not working

This is an exact problem that I am facing with my Seiki 50" TV. From my research, here are the probable issues:
1. Main Board/T-Con Boards are fine
2. Power Board : MIP550D-5TB could be defective - most probably the culprit. There is a power test to try but w/o schematics, it is not possible to identify component
3. If Power Board replacement does not solve, it is the backlight LED strips that are defective - tought one to replace.
Will update this thread at a later date.

TOSHIBA 32bv500b screen stops working sound works fine

I'm having a hard time finding any parts for the set besides the power supply board. The T-Con is usually located top center on the back of the LCD panel. It will be under a metal cover. Sometimes, the t-con circuitry is built onto the main board. If this is the case with yours, you will have to order the main board. Feel free to send me a pic of the back of your set.
