I dropped by LG Dare phone into water and immediately retrieved it. The phone worked initially, but then the touch screen stopped working. I can still use the buttons and the AVR, but no other features. The battery was taken out, dried out the phone, cleaned up some corrosion, but no success. Phone just purchased 2+ weeks ago -- don't want to drop another 200 bucks. Any suggestions?

ive had a similar problem... but what i did is i looked at what the insurance does cover... since it doesnt cover water damage.. defect the phone in some way that the insurance will cover. its only if you're in desperate need. there is no way to fix water damage... but i know PLENTY of tricks to soak water out of the phone

You can buy a new water proof touch screen online and you will be able to go to a Verison store and have them install it for you. Also put the phone in a zip-lock bag full of uncooked rice for several weeks. Make sure the battery and phone are in the bag seperately.

get a new lcd digitalizer

plug it into the charger, wait until the verizon screen comes up wait 2 seconds after that and then unplug it fast. it should confuse the phone into turning on.

probably the flexcable to the touch screen came loose when you dropped it,it isnt hard to repair ,just be careful not to ruin the screws that hold it together
