Can i get back my purchased songs?

My ipod recently replaced all of my songs and i had to erase them all. So i uploaded some of my CD's to get songs. but i was wondering if there was any way to get the songs that i purchased using my itunes account back, because we got a new computer that does not have any of my purchased songs on them. Our old computer would not open itunes so i can not copy them onto a cd. is there a way i can access those songs through my account?

As restrictive as the iTunes music store is, there is a secret policy in place that will allow you to re-download your entire purchase history in case anything happens to you music collection.
In the event this happens, simply email Apple’s iTunes support group and after a few days you will get the response:
In the event that a customers entire music library is lost, the iTunes Music Store does re-grant the purchases history. Please keep in mind that Apple does not offer protection against the loss of purchases, so this is a one-time exception.
I can verify this is true as well.

I just purchased a new iMac. I put some new songs on thru i tunes and when I sync with my iPod it erased all but 156 of my over 3000 songs from my iPod. How do I put them back on

If you did not purchase original songs through Apple/iTunes they are gone. If you did then you will have to download again through purchases in iTunes and resync iPod. - this should be posted in Apple support not here.

Delete songs

You need a computer to delete songs from iPod, if you sick of iTunes, You may try this ipod transfer, it's a nice iTunes alternative that can help you manage iPod files including delete, upload, play, copy, etc. It's much easier to use than iTunes.

How Do I Download Songs Onto My iPod Nano?
IPod Nanos are portable multimedia players that allow you to playback songs and other content (e.g. video) no matter where you go. They come in a variety of memory sizes such as 4GB or 16GB (gigabytes) and work with iTunes to upload songs. ITunes is the iPod default management program which allows you to upload songs to its library, create playlists and sync music on your iPod quickly and easily. This simple process will have you jamming to your favorite songs in no time.

Downloading to an iPod Nano1Connect your iPod Nano to the computer using the USB cable. Launch iTunes if does not automatically launch. When you launch iTunes, it will display your iPod Nano on the left panel.

3Click the "+" button on the lower left panel to create a playlist. Type a name for the playlist and drag the uploaded file to it. To upload additional songs, repeat Step 2 and drag the uploaded additional songs to the created playlist.

I pod touch while sincing new data, old is getting erased

Hi, I think you are using Itunes to Sync your IPOD-T.

If u r using Itunes Then u shouldn't delete any thing from ur ITUNES... Because, Sync is a option which will check the contents of your ipod and Itunes... If u erase anything from your itunes, then it will erase the same in ur IPod as well.... So U shouldn't delete anything from ur itunes....

Other option would be Manual Sync option... Where u have to drag and drop the contents from ur Itunes. Everytime....

Let me know, whether u want to manually add contents to ur ipod. so tat i can send u the settings?

Uploading music

Well first of all, all music purchased from iTunes is in mp4 format, not mp3. You will have to convert you music to mp3 format for it to work. The retail version of nero, works well for that. Another option is to burn your music to cd, then reimport it into your music library, from the cd, as mp3. You'll have to change some setting though if you go that route.

Changed pc and new pc cannot work with ipod

You can download a developers version, not the final product of Songbird. It works just like itunes, but less problematic. It will allow you to "mount" the ipod as a disk, then you can save, the songs to your PC. It will ask you if you want to sync with it, just say no and you will be able to view the contents. I didnt make Songbird, I have just used it recently for the same problem. Best of Luck.
