Its sucking dry or your wiring is not right, or of course an airleak, or the prime is not good, did you fill the pump prime hole at the 3/4 plug on bottom.of pump, deep well pump do you mean submersible? if so and it is a deep well submersible there is a prime, its got to be an airleak in the line or the pressure tank is not pressured up to the specs, and the gauge

SOURCE: shallow well pump made by wayne well is 22 feet deep pump runs no

Inspect the jet thru the suction pipe or the removable plug if the pipe isn't inline with the center of the impeller. The jet is very small, and easy to get something stuck in there. Then prime and leave the pressure pipe closest to the outlet slightly loose to let air out. Once you get good pressure you can tighten the pipe. Sometimes you have to prime more than once to get all the air out of the well pipe.

SOURCE: new 1/2 hp jet pump with tank not working

Your hose size is to small. Use a 2in black plastic line out to the lake. Inspect your foot valve, and
take your pump apart to see if you may have a pebble stuck in it, and remove the inner workings
and clean. Contaminates build up inside and need to be flushed out. Remember to replace the
gasket. Tighten all your hose clamps. Once your ready to start, spray shaving cream on your
fittings to see if your sucking air. I've been through it all and my pump works fine.

SOURCE: have installed a 1/2 HP wayne jet pump, getting water ,

If we go down the list of possible causes, it may help;

  • All fitting on the new pump and jet are tight.
  • No break in the well line
  • FOOT valve operating OK. If the foot valve is not operating correctly, the pump can lose its prime and **** air into the system.
  • New pump has been purged of air(primed adequately)
  • holding tank has appropriate pre charge
  • bladder in holding tank not ruptured.

SOURCE: why wont my Jet pump shut off?

Is the little pipe that connects to the pressure switch clear?

I suggest you remove it and blow through it to make sure it is clear. If the pressure is getting to the switch, it has to shut off ... your switch should be set around 30/50 (on at 30 - off at 50)

I just purchased a utlitech 1/2 hp convertible jet pump. When I turn it on it just hums.

I

The hum is the sound created by a motor when it cannot start either because the load is excessive and it cannot do the job or if the start capacitor is bogus.

If cap is good, motor should start immediately upon turn on. Measure cap with cap meter or simply replace it. The capacitance should be the amount indicated on the cap and not more than 10 percent less.

If capacitor is good the pump itself might be frozen. Try running the motor not connected to the pump.

I have a UtiliTech 1/2 HP Jet pump #0003124. I need a manual. Can I get a larger volume impeler for this mode?l

Put a vacuum gauge on the suction, see if it goes real low after pumping a couple of gallons. If so, your point may be stopped up. A 1/2 hp pump should pump 40/50 psi, fill a 5 gal bucket in a minute or so.

I have a utilitech 1 hr convertible jet pump. My well is 58 feet. My foot valve is at 68 feet. My pump is primed. But it still won't pump water. And it us set up for deep well. Any suggestions?

I think you mean your well is 68 feet and your foot valve is at 58 feet. To properly prime a deep well jet system you must completely fill not only the pump but the entire casing also. This should take about 5 gallons of water. If you are not using anywhere near that much water to prime it may be the well casing is air locked which means the air in the well has no place to go and won't allow water in if there is a plug on top of the well adapter remove it and then try to prime system. Another method is to run the pump while priming to help break the airlock. Hope this helps.

I woke up to no water my pump kicks on and hums for 3 to 5 seconds and quits

It sounds like it is seized with the overload relay cycling it to save the motor. It needs to be dismantled, cleaned and possibly rebuilt. Check the price of a new one it may be cheaper.

Utilitech jet pumps

This sound could be many things. It could be cavitation from a suction obstruction. IT could be a bearing or a bushing. IT could be something lodged in the impellors. YOu will have to take it out and disassemble it to see.

Will not prime

My pump didn't pump until I filled the 'suction side' pipe with water before I attached the pipe to the pump. The suction pipe needs a foot valve if you have a long lift from the water to the pump. Then pour water into the pump on the outflow side. Should pump fine . It'll purge the air out after a little bit if you filled the pump with enough water. I almost bought a relacement pump but then realized that the foot valve wasn't sealing and the suction pipe wasn't holding water. We have about a 8 foot vertical draw to the pump . Good luck.

I have a utilitech jet pump can only set pressure to 20-40 would like to set to at least 30-50 but cannot .The pump is less than 6 months old .any ideas other than i bought the wrong brand

Sorry Richard,
Sounds like you are correct, you bought the wrong type of pump...if your looking for pressure/output you might consider purchasing a "sprinkler pump"...they will go past 70psi and more
