Hi I am needing to know how to put music on the hold button as at the moment its just blank. thankyou

Mine did this after kids played with it, just hold the power/volume button pressed down for a few seconds and it will go back to normal.

Is the display blank when you power on.?
First turn off notebook.Remove battery and power cable.Then hold power button down for 15 seconds.Reconnect battery and power cable.

Try to hit F10 key immediately when you power-on the notebook.
>If you are able to see bios(blue,grey,or white screen) information,then the issue is with windows or with drivers.
>If you are not able to see any screen.Then probably issue with graphics chip on motherboard.Contact Hp for repair options or authorize Hp store.

I have one doing exactly this at the moment. It had gone to sleep and the fans were going like crazy. I think it is a Motherboard failure (it happened with many G5 iMacs), this one has been replaced once already, and I can't actually get it to install anything. I'm taking it apart tomorrow to see what I can find inside. If I fond anything I'll let you know.

I have fixed our problem! Hope this helps you out. I downloaded a manual for the 44090 model.
Make sure that you don't have it plugged into the usb port and the player is switched to mp3 mode. Open the software and then when it says to plug it in now, you need to turn the player into music mode. Press and hold for 3 to 4 seconds the centre power/play/pause button. It will start the red light flashing. Once the light is flashing it is in music mode. Plug in to the usb port and the computer should recognise it bringing up the install now button for the software. Click 'install now' and it should work.
I don't use the software to load songs I just use windows media player and once I had passed this install now bit media player recognised it instantly.
Everytime you want to listen to music you need to put the player into music mode by holding down that button till the red light flashes. Once music is loaded on it starts playing as soon as that red light starts flashing!

there should be a small reset button on the bottom of the device, use a pen and press it and hold for a few seconds, it should reset. you can see it in this photo

While listening to music, push and hold the SRC button until you only have the clock display up. Then push and hold the Audio button until the hours blinks. Use the up/down buttons to set the hour, then the right arrow to get to the minutes. When finished, push and hold the SRC button until you get the music back.

Try this;

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.

For this problem i believe try to do the above steps. switch to recovery mode then connect the player to the computer. When the player is connected to the computer open the version.txt document and see if your firmware is up to date if not try to update the firmware of your player. I believe the latest one is 18 or something. If your firmware is up to date try to call sandisk, i had this problem once but they resolve it with the steps i have said.
