G1 phone has the red, green, and blue screen

I was trying to power my phone on and off and when I turned it back on, it had this bootup screen. I have tried everything that I have seen online. I tried taking the battery out and restoring the system. I have cleaned the camera button and it is not sticking at all! I have tried everything... nothing is working. Do I need a new phone?

SOURCE: RED, GREEN, BLUE AND WHITE HORIZONTAL BARS APPEARED ON MY SCREEN???

hey, i had the same problem and i fixed it. i took the battery out and saw the 4 golden tabs behind the battery. there was two tabs that u could pull out. i lightly pulled them out a little bit. the problem was that the tabs wouldnt hit the battery to charge it. thats why it put the tri colored screen on the front. also my charger fit into the charging hole in the phone, but it had to be moved around to much that it did not fit exactly. I have been rough with the charger so it moved the inside of my phone around. i put the charger in the phone and moved it around gently around untill the light lit up on the front at the top by the word at&t. after it was completly charged, i turned it on and it worked perfectly. i hope this helps in whoever may have this problem because i know it sucks!
Thanks

SOURCE: g1 phone camera doesnt take pictures

As the others said, there are the two settings. I had a similar problem, then realized how it worked. You need to not press very hard while it focuses first. Then you can press all the way down, if you hold it all the way down, it doesn't recognize that you've already passed the first "Focus" pressure point and gone into the second "Capture" pressure point.

SOURCE: HTC touch HD is completley frozen

If you have all your items saved to your computer with Active Sync, then do a master reset:
HTC Touch hard reset 14 January 2008

  • Power on.
  • Press and hold buttons marked 1.
  • Press and release 2 with stylus.
  • Release buttons marked 1 when menu comes up.
  • Press directly down on center dpad, marked 3.
You can also get tips & tricks from www.htcwiki.com
It has the latest and great updates, software, even known issues if you ever come across this. HTC does recommend that you do a master/hard reset once a quarter to keep it moving smoothly. Also, ensure you don't have a lot of open running programs. Perhaps once a day, clean the cashe and history. Do a soft reset (aka battery pull) once or twice a week. All depends on how hard you play with this lovely PDA device!

SOURCE: G1 TOUCHSCREEN

Hi there, You are lucky that it is on... try one thing.. put the fun under the sunlight for half an hour or may be 15 min if its too hot there and try it again...
if this will not work then try to open the phone if you can clean the top screen area and put it back (try at your own risk) and it will do..

SOURCE: my G1 cut off and now it wont come back on... when

To hard reset...turn the phone on while holding home and back. Follow on screen prompt. this will reset the phone to factory settings,

out of the box settings
hold home + power
once phone is on, open keyboard and hold alt first + w

you should call T-moble support. its probably the ahome app.

Just brought a g1

You must also subscribe to a G1 data feature. If you don't have a data feature on your account the phone is essentially a paper weight.

My g1 phone wont start up

your phone booted up into the g1 bootloader screen, if you want to be able to use the phone again you will have to probably push the rc29 recovery.img then manually upgrade back to whatever rom you are on

P.S you will lose your pictures but you wont lose your contacts because once you sign in to gmail on the phone it automatically retrieves the contacts that were on the phone

P.P.S you will lose root capability if you had it

Getting a red, green, and blue screen when trying to hard reset

your going to have to download a recovery.img of the stock rc29 system and boot that up from that screen. This will hard reset the phone and then from there you can upgrade back to your desired rom.

Blue On G1

ok i had this isssue and figure out what to do. this is all afterm you know that you have a good charger and or battery.

1. completely turn of phone unplug charger.
2. take and put battery back in phone and plug charger.
3. hold hit camera button and power buton. phone will come on if the update was washed it will come straight on. if not you will see the blue LED dont worry yet. just keep holding for 15 sec.
4. while phone blue LED is still on hit and hold (drum Role) menu and track ball for 15 sec.
5. now unplug charger and take out battery. wait 10 sec
6. now put battery back in and leave charger off. and turn on. unless you was in middle of update and hardware failed this WILL bring your G1 back up and running.

hope this helps everyone . MIll$tronics signing out.

PLEASE HELP! my tmobile G1 has been acting strange all day since I turned on phone. The phone went into safe mode now I have I'm in the bootup and it tells me to press home and back to reboot, and it wont...

so when your phone boots up in safe mode, it will only give you the ability to menus without any connection to wireless networks. you wont be able to view any apps or surf the web....

to fix this turn off the device and while its off, press and hold MENU and RED keys at the same time until you see the home screen

if that doesnt work, try to reset the device. i think thats what you were previously trying.....

when the handset is off, press HOME and POWER KEYS at the same time until a triangle with yellow "!" appears. release keys and slide open the keypad. press "ALT" and "W" at the same time until phone reboots. attempt to log in again.

good luck! :)
