If both the remote (which can be tested by a shop for free) AND the front buttons do not work I suspect the unit may have a lock out that disables everything on both except for on off..........
Hello Enter the Menu screen, select, preference, select default, and OK. If the problem is with password forgot, the default passord of this unit is [ 3308]. Enter this password on the first screen. Sometimes the unit won't accept this passord for the first time to cheat you, enter this pasword again. After that, you can enter your own passord. OK.
The tray needs a new motor with a new pulley that does not slip on its shaft and get a new belt too. It is easy to pull the dvd tray unit out of a GO VIDEO DVD+VCR machine to replace the motor with new pulley on it and the belt should be renewed too.The motor NOW may run only to push out the tray but it will not pull it in to LOAD the DVD or CD. This is what I found after troble-shooting the function. From Jim, and I need the same things. Can anyone tell me where I might buy those idems? [email protected]
Locate
the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all
those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then
walk over to the keypad and key in any 4 digit code you like and
press enter.
Try unplug, replug the unit back like about an hour later for the unit for resetting itself back to factory setting. If getting the same result the unit might have a shorted motor drive for the disc tray.Or shorted control panel on the unit itself.Well, this thing a basic DVD player only wright? If u can tries take it aparts and check out tries to repair it ur self that great. If u tries the shops, not worth it.Trash it.These basic DVD player only are very cheap now.U can get one brand new like $40 dollars.
Hello,
Not necessarily time for a new one. I would give the DVD player a good cleaning before you consider a new unit. A good cleaning disk with some little bristles on it. Run it through three full times. DVD players are far more sensitive than VCRs and have to be cleaned even two weeks or so. When they get real dirty it can take some fooling with to get the DVD player to even accept the cleaning disk. But if it just won't accept the cleaning disk and you can't watch a DVD in it then it's time for a new one. I had a DVD player one time that took an hour of fooling around with before it got cleaned good enough to play DVDs. Worked for a couple years afterward.

Tony
