I did a search and found this as I don't own one not sure if this forum will help or not but thought I'd pass it on anyway.
Best to you.

Im not familiar with your particular unit but you should be using a low frequency transducer for water over 500'; something like a 50 kHz transducer or a dual frequency transducer like a 50/200kHz for detail with the high freq. but increased depth range on the lower frequency. As far as setting it to 250 ft, you should be able to use the range feature and adjust the maximum to 250'. typically the factory default is automatic so it will caonstantly adjust the range based on the maximum current depth.
go to page 21. you will need abobe reader but most people have that if you dont just go to adobe.com and download it its free. ok hope that helps. please leave a vote.
Hi Greg and Ernesto:
Re-stating the obvious, your transducer is not working but you know that the sounder is.
I would start by checking to see if your transducer works on a different sounder. That's just a double check to confirm that it really is not working.
Then I'd try to isolate the problem:
- Plug (couold be corroded or damaged)
- wire (could be broken)
- Transducer (could be defective)
Since these are sealed units, I'd be checking with the supplier to try to find a replacement. Hopefully they are not too expensive, and time spent fishing is better than trying to maybe save a few dollars, especially if you're taking out charters.
Best of luck.
pressing the "SNDR" button activates the sounder
press"ALARM" tyo acces alarm menu, turn them on or off there, look "NEXT PAGE" for alarm 2

Depth: Could be for a number of reasons, too deep for the sounder - check the manual for it's max depth. Dirty water, sounder unable to penetrate through to the bottom. Weed or other debris covering the transducer. Transducer on a swing mount & being pushed out of alignment then dropping back in once stopped.
Speed: Is the speed readout controlled by a GPS or paddlewheel? If it's GPS, check the power connection of the sounder, may be loose which would also cause the depth to 'drop out'. If it's paddlewheel, you're down to bad connections or faulty unit.
