If the battery is fully charged it could be that you switched off by error the display....
to turn on again see here:

Testimonial: "Thanks for the help but unfortunatly this has not helped, still think it might be the internal battery as not used for quite a while. How do you get to it and can you get a replacement?"

ok, then the internal backup battery is exhausted:it needs to be replaced by a Minolta dealer!

Memory card will not go in all the way and the door won't shut.

was it working before?
turn the memory card anyway and have a try - before check inside the memory card compartment with a flashlight if you can see the contacts at the bottom and insert the card corresponding to them.
Or try another card to exclude yours is not damaged or wrong type somehow....

I can't find the driver(s) for a Konica Minolta Maxxum 5D Canera. I found one for Windows 95/98 but it will not work with the Vista 32 bit Home Premium Operating System.

You don't need a driver. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

I have a konica Monota model DG-5D camera and the USB port is not recognized when I connect it to my PC. I am attempting to down load my pictures to computer and the massage reported from the PC is...

I could not find a Konica Minolta Model DG-5D camera listed on the support web pages.
I did find a "DYNAX5D/Maxxum5D" that had driver software for Windows 98/98se.
If you're using XP or later, these drivers probably won't help you though.
Can you confirm the model number?

Bracketing in Maxxum 5D

Hey arnelsartwor,
To set both exposure and flash bracketing you need to press the drive mode button, and then use the up/down arrows to select bracketing and then use the right/left arrows to highlight the drive mode option and then press the center button to select the desired drive mode. These instructions are on page 50 of your user manual. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

Minolta Maxxum 5D

The P-channel MOSFET switching the CF power is dead. It is on the little board directly above the battery compartment. SOT23 package, the marking is 338 or something like that. Replace it and it will work.
