If the GCSBBV-200 is similar to other Sunbeam steam irons, fill the iron when it is cool and unplugged. With the ironing surface flat on the sole plate, set the Steam dial to dry and the Fabric Select dial to Min. Then use an easy-pour measuring cup to pour water into the opening at the top front of the iron. Make sure not to fill past the maximum fill level. (Tip the iron up as if you were resting it between passes with the iron to check the level.)

I hope this helps.

(Sunbeam has the manual for the GCSBBC-395 on their support site: http://www.sunbeam.com/service-and-support/product-support/instruction-manuals/garment-care/other/garment-care-other-manual.html . Check how similar your iron is to the newer models.)

This site has the manual as well:http://laundry.manualsonline.com/manuals... . Look at page 2 for the directions. It seems the older model is slightly different. You'll need to set the Fabric Selector to off. Then remove the cover over the fill hole. It should just lift off fairly easily. A small screwdriver may help you lever the cover off. Cindy Wells

I cannot get my GCSBDS212 steam iron to make steam.

Have a look at the steam holes in the bottom, they should be nice an clean with no blockage. If they are blocked up you will need to remove the calcium buildup inside the iron. Get some LimeAway at HDepot, pour it into the water reservoir, let sit overnight. Next day turn the iron on and try steaming on some old papers covered with an old rag or towel, once it starts working steam for a few minutes, then unplug, drain it, put in clean distilled water and flush it out until the steam comes out clear. Use distilled water not tap water, it has much less mineral content and will be less likely to plug it up. Most pharmacies and Walmart sell distilled water. ! gallon about $1.25.

Sunbeam steam iron model #GCSBRS-1 does not give steam. 11/2yr old

I have had the same issue with both of these irons. I bought them both thinking they would be a "better" iron with more steam and have not been happy within the first year of owning them. Thanks for the tips.

How to flush brown fluid from Sunbeam Steam Master steam jets and increase steam shooting?

There is commercial iron cleaner, but you can use white vinegar and distilled water to flush it. I would use a mixture of half and half. Then let it steam its little self, when it is clear, rinse with the distilled water again, This kind of thing happens when you use tap water and let it sit in it without rinsing after using. I always use distilled water and empty right away after use. Good luck

If it is only a week or so old it should still be in warrenty guarentee. Take it back and if it is a good retailer, he will change it or do a refund.

I have a Sunbeam Steam Pro iron. Because we used normal tap water, there is a build up of calcified minerals in the water tank and the inside of the baseplate of the iron itself. The iron spits out these...

try putting straight vinegar in the water tank. Let it set until you see the deposit dissolved. Pour it out, rinse and use either some decalcified water or add a couple tsp. of vinegar to the tank each time you use it.
