I have investigated this problem with my phone.
The Vodafone logo is embedded on an EEPROM chip on your phone and you cannot remove it.
I have the same problem on my (unlocked) phone, it has a 3 network logo and I'm using a Vodafone SIM card.
Just ignore this, it does not affect the phone's function.
