Hi. I have a samsung HLP-6163WX/XAA projection tv. Recently I asked a question, but I can't seem to add more details to it so I am asking again. After running for ten minutes the tv picture will turn black and the sound will still be there. The three lights in front of the tv are on at that point. After I unplug the tv for five minutes, I turn it back on and I have a picture again for a few minutes and then the same thing happens. I assumed the lamp was going bad so I purchased a new lamp. After installing the new lamp I turn the tv on and it trys to light the lamp but it just buzzes and then shuts down. I can see the light trying to start but nothing. All the lights in the front are on again. I tried the old lamp to see if it would light up and it did ! Then shut down after ten minutes with the same lights on in front of the tv. I'm thinking it's my ballast but I'm not sure. Also I was looking for my ballast online and can't seem to find it. The number on my ballast is BP61-00728A. Also the numbers on the black part where the wires are coming out say EUC 120 P/H11. 230MM There is a white glue or silicone on this ballast. Does that mean there is a problem with it.Any help would be appreciated. The last person asked me to add more details but I couldn't do it when I pressed on the comment section. Any hints on how to do that would help to. Thanks 
The glue is just protection as far as the lamp gone if you bout an after market on that probably the problem I went threw 5 of them before I to it to a TV repair shop he put in a oem lamp and it's work fine ever since hope this helps

I have the same problem. The only way to get the TV to come on is to unplug it, but once you get it back on it turns itself off again in a few minutes.

got mine working better unplugged the sound and wiggled the plastic coated wire above the large fan works but freezes maybe once in a day some days never have the sound running through the receiver (surround) I shut it off and it comes back on when it does freeze figure loose connection

Your set uses the Phillips UPH100W 1.3 100http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/ 1amp bulb part number 6912V00006A which uses Ballast EUC 6913V0002A and the actual ballast isMB03CA part number 6871VSMB13F I would contact LG and give them these numbers. Is your ballast bad or is the BallastEUC bad? Let me know if I can help you further.

I have the same problem. I bought a 43" Samsung DLP and I"m having problems with the tv. Sometimes when I try to turn the tv on it will not come it cycles on and off and finally the lamp light comes on and and the temp light comes and stays. Sometimes I keep trying and some times it comes on and sometimes it won't. It also makes a whining noise at the back. Please help.

you need to replace the lamp inside the DLP TV. they are about $400 or so depending on your are. i would google the best price and find the must trust worthy TV repair place or call best buy.
