I m very confused to understand vertical and horizontal sections ... I have a t.v its main ic is LA76810 and vertical output ic is LA78040... from main ic pin no 23 is for vertical output and this output is imputed on LA78040... and pin 27 is for horizontal output .. and this output is imputed on a transistor c2383... actully I asked a question about white vertical line on tv screen and I told to export that when I turn on my t.v tv works for 30 seconds and then appear a red vertical line on tv and then last white vertical line on tv screen ... white line is slim and bright ... export tell me that its horizontal scan output fault ... but problem is that I cannot understand that where is horizontal scan output section? is it start from main ic horizontal output from pin 27 ? where is it? experts plz plz tell me

Where is horizontal output ic in my t.v?

There is no horizontal oscillator IC. The horizontal oscillation is generated and outputted by the main system control IC LA76810 itself. Refer some circuit diagrams using LA76810 to get more details about the horizontal oscillation output from the IC. Measure the frequency at that output pin. It should be some ever near 15.62KHz.

Horizontal line

hi,
ur tv has problem with vertical scanning section. may be dry soldering or vertical output ic faulty.
u can easily find out the vertical section on ur tv. for that u have to open ur tv. u can see a coil is fitted on the picture tube neck. there are four lines coming from the neck, of which two will go to horizontal scanning section and the remaining two will go to vertical section. follow the two thin wire normally in color green and yellow. it will go to a socket in the main board. trace the track from that socket in the main board . it will lead u to the vertical scanning section. check for any dry soldering in that section. mainly the soldering of vertical ic. if see or not re-solder the leads of the vertical ic . then check is the tv is ok or not. if complaint remains replace the vertical scanning out pout ic. it will be fitted on a aluminum heat sink in the vertical section. if u need more assistance feel free to contact through fixya.

No picture. Just a thin horizontal band of light running through the center of TV.

HI,
Your tv has problem with its vertical scanning side. vertical scanning output ic (integrated circuit ) may have some problem ( faulty or dry soldering in its leads). You can easily find out the vertical ic on your tv. there will be four wire coming from the coil which is fitted on the picture tube neck, of which 2 will goto horizontal scanning section and the remaining two will go to vertical scanning section. just follow the two thin wire (normally in color green and yellow ). it will goto a socket on the main board. follow the track on the board. it will lead u to vertical scanning section. check for any dry soldering, if not , replace the ic.

Picture has been reduced to a thin line in center of set sound and remote functions still work

Hello
Your TVs vertical output section has the trouble. All TVs have both vertical and horizontal scanning sections, which scans the picuture on the secreen both vertically and horizontally, to get a picture frame. If horizontal scan fails, you will see a vertical line at the middle of the screen, and if vertical scan fails, there will be a horizontal line across the middle of the screen. Your TV has the second stated trouble. To get it rectified, you have to open your Tv.
Unplug your TV from mains socket and open it. Locate the vertical output section. It is so easy to locate. Your TVs picture tube neck id fitted a coil alongwith it, which is called the deflection yoke, and it will have four wire connections. Out of these four wires, two of them will be thick, usually red and blue in colour, and the other twos will be thin. Just follow the two thin wires, you will reach to a point that these four wires are plughed onto a pin connection, on the main printed circuit board.
Upside down the board, and trace the track to which these two thin wires goes, through the print side, will reach to the vertical output section.
Normally this section consists of an IC for this purpose, and can be screwed onto a metal heatsink, as it will get heated when it works. Before unsodering it , just look at the soldering points of this IC pins for any loose soldering points. Loose soldering are very difficult to locate, as thay will be very minute up to microns, so resolder all the pins of this Ic, by applying a little more solder, and see the effect. Sometimes this will resolve the problem. If not go tho the main input voltage that goes to Ic pin. If it is not there, check out the reason. If it is there and still vertcal scanning does not occur, resolder out the IC from the circuit board, and go for a same type and number.
If you wants anymore asistance, feel free to contact me through Fixya. OK.

Hello
Your TVs vertical sweep, otherwise wertical scan, output section has got some trouble with it. there are horizontal and vertical sweep sections there for every picture tube based TVs. If horizontal sweep section fails, you will see a vertical line at the center of the screen, and if vertical sweep fails you will see a horizontal bright line across the middle of the screen.

To locate the faulty section and to get it repaired, you have to open your Tv. Open it, after detaching it from wall power socket. Locate the vertical section. It is easy to locate. There will be four wires going to the main board from the deflection yoke, fitted on the neck of the picture tube. Amoung them, two will be thick, usually colured as red and blue, and the other two will be thin. Follow the two thin wires, and you can see it to be plughed into a socket on the main board. Just put the board upside down, and follow the track of that two thin wires through the printed circuit boar. You will reach to the vertical outpuut section. Usually these sections are provided to work with an Integrated Circuit [IC]. screwed onto a metal heatsink.
Before doing any thing, just look onto the solderings of legs of that Ic for any loose contact. As it is very difficult to locate the loosec contacts, just resolder all the pin soldering at that IC by applying a little more solder. and check if the problem is rectified. As these ICs will heat up while working, it is natural to get its leg solderting loose after some time.
If it doesn't help. check the voltage input to the vertical IC said above. If there is voltage, and still it doest help, desolder it out from the board and go for a same type and number. Replacing the Ic will solve your problem.
If you wants any more assistance, feel free to contact me through Fixya. Ok
