Horizontal line
hi,
ur tv has problem with vertical scanning section. may be dry soldering or vertical output ic faulty.
u can easily find out the vertical section on ur tv. for that u have to
open ur tv. u can see a coil is fitted on the picture tube neck. there
are four lines coming from the neck, of which two will go to horizontal
scanning section and the remaining two will go to vertical section.
follow the two thin wire normally in color green and yellow. it will go
to a socket in the main board. trace the track from that socket in the
main board . it will lead u to the vertical scanning section. check for
any dry soldering in that section. mainly the soldering of vertical ic.
if see or not re-solder the leads of the vertical ic . then check is the
tv is ok or not. if complaint remains replace the vertical scanning out
pout ic. it will be fitted on a aluminum heat sink in the vertical
section. if u need more assistance feel free to contact through fixya.
regards
Ajin
I have Dish Sattelite. The screen on my JVC digital tv says digital strength is low. Do I call Dish? or ?
This sounds like a cable issue. Assuming your Dish receiver is connected to your TV with a HDMI cable (ends are rectangular and the connector is trapezoid in shape), you can first attempt to switch HDMI ports on the back of your TV. If you get the same message, you can try flip the cable end for end -- plug the TV end into the receiver and the receiver end into the TV (I know, sounds silly, but has worked for me). Next is a new (better -- don't get a $5 cable, most good HDMI cables start close to $20 and up depending on length).
Now if you happen to be connecting via a "standard" TV cable (RG 6), first make sure that the cable is screwed on snuggly (no wrench needed, just finger tight). Next is to get a new cable.
Why would my jvc tv
Hi Janet,
First make sure that the sound is not in "mute" mode.
Plug your headset to the earphone jack of the TV.
If you can hear the sound there, the fault may due to open(defective) internal speakers or the earphone jack itself. Faulty internal speaker may replaced with new sets to back your sound to normal again. If the earphone jack was faulty, you may spray it first with electrical contact cleaner while inserting and pulling the headset plug into it for one minute to clean the contact. If nothing happens, this jack need to replaced with new one.
If you can't hear the sound after inserting your headset, this is an indication that the audio circuitry was gone bad. The most common caused of this trouble was the faulty sound IC(mounted in heatsink). This is the one converts the audio signal to sound and feed to your speaker's. I would advice you to look for a qualified technician to check this parts.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!

My JVC TV has an onscreen remote that doesn't let us use the actual remote what do I do to gat it out?
Hello! If your JVC TV is displaying an onscreen remote and you're unable to use the actual remote, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue:
- Power cycle the TV: Turn off the TV and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can often reset any temporary issues and restore the functionality of the actual remote.
- Replace the remote batteries: Check the batteries in your remote control and make sure they have enough power. If the batteries are low, replace them with fresh ones and try using the remote again.
- Check the remote control sensor: Ensure that there are no obstructions between the remote control and the TV's remote control sensor. Clean the remote control sensor on the TV with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove any dust or debris that may be interfering with the signal reception.
- Reset the TV to factory settings: If the issue persists, you can try resetting the TV to its factory settings. Keep in mind that this will erase any personalized settings and restore the TV to its original configuration. Refer to the user manual or the manufacturer's website for instructions on how to perform a factory reset on your specific JVC TV model.
- Contact JVC customer support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's recommended to reach out to JVC customer support for further assistance. They will have access to more specific troubleshooting steps and can guide you through the process of resolving the issue with the onscreen remote.
Keep in mind that the exact steps and options may vary depending on your specific JVC TV model. Refer to the user manual or contact JVC customer support for model-specific guidance.
