Garmin nuvi 350, touch screen isn't working. Can't get into maps, street search......won't let me get into anything. My husband needs this for work at his new job and we are looking for some asap help if possible................Was working last time it was used about a month ago. Not sure how to reset/recalibrate? Any help would be appreciated.
The touchscreen cable may have come loose from the main board. If so, repair generally involves disassembly. That might require more "being careful" than you are game for. You might want to try the firmware fix first.
If you are very lucky, you would find the cable is loose during disassembly. Here is a disassembly procedure as well as a second procedure regarding a battery:

It would not hurt to take pictures during disassembly. That could be very helpful putting it back together. If you do not reattach cabling, you will have to take it apart again and your language will not impress.
It could be a dead battery. Here is the procedure for changing such. However, there is the wait for a tool kit or a battery. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYZKu_ZXa6o
You might acquire a battery from ebay.
One could try updating the firmware to see if the unit became responsive.
Garmin WebUpdater
One could seek out of warranty Garmin repair. Call (800) 800-1020 or (913) 397-8200 to speak with a Garmin representative, explain the problem with your Nuvi, and get further instructions. If your unit is not covered under warranty, you can also arrange payment.
From the Garmin troubleshooting page:
"
Non-Responsive Screen
You cannot control the device using the touch screen.
Dirty Screen
It may seem mundane, but dust dirt and other particulates can greatly reduce the function of the touch screen, follow these simple steps to clean your screen:
If your device has a screen protector, remove it.
Spray a bit of water or formulated spray onto a microfiber cloth.
Wipe thoroughly.
Using a dry microfiber cloth, immediately dry the surface.
Replace the screen protector with a new one if desired.
Resetting the Device Without the Screen
Follow the steps in the Factory reset subsection to reset your device without use of the touch screen."
Or, if the screen is broken, you can order a replacement screen. There are guides online for replacing them.
*In the meantime, if you have a smartphone, there are many apps that you can use as a GPS / mapping tool.

Heres what to do:
- Connect to computer using USB cable
- Flip up antenna and hit reset button.
- The unit should power up.
- Then put unit on wall charge to get a full charge.
That should do it if not call 1-800 800 1020.

I had the same problem, so I hit the side of the Garmin a few times. It works perfectly now. Something inside was unaligned and needed a little force to knock it into place. I didn't hit it HARD.

I sent you the instructions. Please rate my solution to close this thread thanks!
SOURCE: Garmin Nuvi 350 Touch Screen unresponsive
The touch screen lays on top of the LCD display. It has its own flex cable that plugs into the main board. It is possible for the LCD display to work fine while the touch screen does not. They are two separate parts and work independently!
If your touch screen all of a sudden quit working, I would ask did you ever drop it?
I have repaired many Nuvi's with a non-functioning touch screen. I can't speak for every instance but the ones i took apart, the flex screen cable was loose from the main board.
Don't attempt to fix this yourself unless you know what your doing. Email me at ks3r at sharc dot net if your interested in me repairing your Nuvi at a reasonable price. I have references.
