I tried pressing and holding the power button to attempt to reset, and I completely opened the unit to watch for obvious damage, which was not found.

Firstly, isolate the troubled area by inputting battery equivalent healthy voltage from any suitable DC source. If inverter works, then the problem is in battery, if it doesn't, check the transformer and output transistors of the inverter.

I managed to dig up a user manual on a third party site (link below). MGE was actually purchased by Schneider Electric, along with APC, which is the world's largest UPS maker. During the integration they combined all companies under the APC label and all support for MGE now falls to APC. Following that up, I tried finding information about your model on their site, but it seems they are no longer supporting that model. Long story short, the third part link is all I could find, hopefully it provides what you were looking for.
Eaton Powerware now handles the MGE Evolution product. Standard warranty is 2 years warranty, Standard product exchange, including the battery(return to depot or the seller).
Eaton Powerware should send out a new unit via courier at their cost, if you call the 1-800 number and give them the serial number and describe the problem. You ship the UPS that is not working to them in the box they send out the replacement UPS and they should include a collect waybill to ship it back to them.
Red beeping triangle is a major alarm. It is most likely an internal fault. The inverter section are often the main reason. A technician has to look at the internal problem.

Alagator clips on (+) (-) and on the resister. If the battery can not hold the charge after one minute above 12V DC, but drops very quickly that battery is due to be replaced. Very simple test and cost hardly nothing.
