I have a temperature fault in my galaxy 3000. Try to clean the radiator behind the cabinet with the air compresor and clean all the fan inside so air circulation is good. Don't know about batt temperature fault. Hope this help.

Is the UPS in Bypass? Is the Inverter running? What alarms other than that code are on? Have you shut the unit down. Its best to call MGE, that unit requires to have software to work on it. Even though you find the problem, and replace the board, the Board needs to be program to that unit. YUP! This way MGE always makes money on the UPS's no matter where and no matter how old the UPS is. They lock you out. Which is unfair for the customer. The customer has no choice but to call the dealer to fix it. Trust me.. Then again when a customer buys a product, isn't it his for life? Why can't he fix his ups or hire whoever he wants besides the Manufacture? Wrong, NOT WITH MGE Products. I guess it's Job Security for MGE. That one positive thing.

On the Galaxy display you could see what is the remaining battery life time as calculated by the software. Normally after you replaced the batteries you are supposed to reset this counter using specific software by the manufacturer. According to your information you have replaced the batteries 3 times in 5 years period. This is not normal. Nevertheless since the last replacement in 2008 it appears that the battery are now reaching the end life, which is generally 3-5 years life expectancy.

I would review the following of the assumption that the UPS is fully operational and the charging system is working.

1. Do a load test or a battery impedance test to verify the batteries are good
2. I would look at the battery life time specification, whether it is 3-5 years, 5-7 years ect.
3. Check the room temperature, every 10 degrees Celcius above 25 deg reduces battery life time by half
4. Check the number of power failures/ duration of these power failures and if possible what load were on the UPS at the time of the power failures.
I hope this will help. If all verifications are to specifications, then most likely it is a software problem

No you don't have to reconfigure the UPS after battery replacement. However you may have to reset the battery Timer. There are 4 possible ways.1. Press and hold the fault reset button for 3-5 seconds2. Press and hold the fault reset and security key simultaneously for 3-5 seconds3. Press an dhold the fault and alarm silence buttons simultaneously for 3-5 seconds4. Cycle the logic Power. This means to remove power from the main processor.5. Call MGE. They have the software to reset the battery replacement alarm

code 2-4-6 does not exist. Code 4-2-6: Personalization code is not the some on the 3 boards.

you need an MGE expert engineer to check on the internal components, maybe the display by itself it dead can be replaced while UPS is on no problem. if you want to switch off the UPS you go for force shutdown but I cannot guarantee will restart if you do not fix the fault.

You do not need a battery, you need many. You need knowledge to replace these batteries in a safe manner. Then you do not know where to buy batteries should ask a company for help ...

What????? No coolant liquid is ever used in any type of UPS. EVER
