I am unable to invoke the scanner of this multifunction printer. I think it is to do with Windows XP SP2 as I was able to scan using XP Home but not within the last 12 months. I can copy and print without any trouble. When I try running the multipass toolbar and clicking one of the scan options (e.g. scan to save) it shows up the dialog for a split second and then a warning dialog saying "Unable to perform action - busy".
I have applied all the patches I can find on the web for fixing the loopback issue with canon printers but to no avail.
Any clues? Perhaps a registry entry that needs tweaking? There is supposed to be a MpNetIpc.ini file but I cannot locate it anywhere on the machine so this might only be a US thing.
The MPC600F is very like the F60 and F80 - a European version?
Any help would be most grateful!
Thanks

i was told that the printer needs to be directly connected to the imac (not airport) for the scanner to work.
i have the same issue w/ the airport extreme.

xp sp2 changes a file in windows that is needed by the canon driver. there is a patch available to fix this. I haven't tried it yet as the printer belongs to a friend. Patch and latest driver available from page below.

Good luck.
SOURCE: Is the canon multipass f60 compatible with windows vista (on an hp laptop)?
Canon does not offer Vista drivers for the MultiPass F60. Vista may have some generic drivers that will work, so don't delete or over-ride them in the system.
The major problem is that the printer only supports USB 1.1 and not USB 2.0

try unplugging it for a little bit then plug it back in and try again if this doesn't work then do a fresh install
