That is what private mode means, the call will be private. You didn't list what model car you have or if this is a factory bluetooth unit ar aftermarket, so I can't provide any step by step instructions to get out of private mode.
Best to talk to some of his family if you can not trust him for an answer.........there is no easy way to answer this.....Find out who married him if possible there has to be a marriage certificate of some sort.....get a private detective perhaps....

Phone must be in locate mode.. radio has a Setup mode where you have to pick the pass code ( or use the one set ) Check the manual and i am sure that you can work it out,
You will need to remove power from the Nokia kit, it has locked up, this is a common fault and can be resolve by removing power if you know where the main unit is or disconnect the vehicle batter for a few minutes.

It is probably the remote. If you need to, to de-activate the alarm get in the car with all doors shut and turn the key to the on position and leave it for a couple of minutes, then the car will start. I haven't ever had to replace the etacs module for that complaint.
Unplug main unit and the other unit which is not working then plug back on after few minutes. If its still the same then change battery on hand set. baattery life is only four years
