How do I know if I need a new roller in the back?

I have a fold-up crosswalk treadmill. My problem is the belt tends to drift to one side or the other. I tried to correct the problem by adjusting the back roller. I'm not sure if I over-tighten therefore damaging the back roll. If this is the case where to I go to replace it?

Hi there ,
The problem wont be the roller . It will be the belt . Whilst the machine is in the upright position look at the material side of the belt and check for any loose material or wear patches. If this is found the belt needs to be changed . Definitely dont use the machine anymore. The other possible problem is the uneven adjustment of the rear roller causing the belt to run to one side. Your problem may be as simple as a loose walking belt. It could also be that the belt guides on the underside of the deck is too wide. Ir could also be that your rear roller collapsed (there should be noise in this case) or your rear roller screw is broken or not holding tension for some reason. Try adjusting the belt again. Consider that the belt will move to the side of least resistance so if you tighten the left side the belt will move right and vise versa. Good luck. SOURCE: My Treadmill Belt slips as soon as any weight is

I have the same problem. The white wheel on the end of the front roller is probably stripped out, and it spins when weight is applied. You can order a new front roller online for around $100.

I think you are talking about the front roller. It has a rubber sleeve that helps to grip the walking belt. Sometimes you can tighten this enough to keep it from slipping but you run the risk of overtightening and damaging both rollers. We recomend replacing that roller.

One possibility is the pulley in the front roller. The shaft that goes into the roller slips making the belt seem as if its slipping. To check it it requires tmarking both surfaces with paint and then see if the mark seperates.

SOURCE: Can I glue the torn edge of my treadmill belt?

I would question why it traveled to the right and cause you grief. Before anything else run the unit and see if its going travel to the right again if it does then check right end cap for breakage. To your first question no you cannot glue the belt they use a high temperature gluing process for the seams you'll have unfortunately replace the belt.

Why does the belt keep veering left?

It should be an adjustment of the roller.

How do I get the belt unstuck from the right side?

You will need to loosen up the right side one revolution, then run the belt at .5 revolution. Watch the belt then retighten the right side slowly until the belt stays in the center. Once its running in the center for at least 1 min without moving over more to right you can stop tightening.

How do I adjust the belt on my Proform Crosswalk Gtx? The belt is too far to the left on the rollers. Thank you.

You can adjust the rear roller bolts tighten the left side to make the belt come back to the right. If it will not come back you may have a broken endcap causing the problem

I am trying to repair the slippage on my Proform Crosswalk Caliber II belt. How do you adjust the belt and please provide detailed directions. Thanks so much Pau;

Most treads have two bolts on the rear roller. To tighten turns these bolts clockwise. Depending on how bad the problem is, I usually turn a 1/4 turn at a time. Walk on the machine to check tension. Once tension is correct turn right side bolt or left side bolt to center belt. Remember belt will travel to side with least resistance. ie.. if you want the belt to go to the left- tighten the right side(clockwise) Centering the belt is easier with machine running at about 2-2.5 if belt is not rubbing on the sides.

Walking belt stop when you walk

this usually is caused by your tensioners on each side of the upper belt roller have become misalligned and for whatever reason now needs to be adjusted
one side is basically lower on the horizontal
so it slips down as it spins

My belt keeps sliding to the left

The rollers in the front and rear need to be adjusted. If its sliding to the left, than the left side needs to be adjusted out until the belt stops going that way and stays on straight.

I need help adjusting the belt on the trimwalk manual treadmill

To tighten the belt, start by locating the two bolts that adjust the rear roller (one on each side of the unit in the back). Run the unit at about 3 mph. Tighten the bolts a 1/4 turn at a time. Make sure that what you do to one side, you MUST do to the other side or the belt will get off center. After you tighten it 1/4 turn, check the belt to see if it is still slipping. If it is then tighten the belt 1/4 turn again. Continue until the belt does not slip, but do not tighten the bolts more than 2 full turns.
