If you have sleep apnea - a condition in which unwinding of the muscles around the tongue and throat makes the tissues square wind stream to the lungs while you sleep - there are various treatment choices to talk about with your specialist. Two of the most generally utilized and best are constant positive aviation route weight (CPAP) and dental machines, or mouth watches.

CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure)
The best treatment for obstructive sleep apnea, CPAP blows air with nonstop weight down your throat during the evening to keep your aviation routes open while you rest.

Before buying please check CPAP mask reviews, experience of the users. The Mouth appliance from any brand, they are made to make your life easy. Selection is upon the users.

From my personal experience my dad was suffering from sleep disorders & this was confirmed by the doctor. Mouth appliances for sleep apnea will not going to help you, not even therapy or medication. The most common treatments for obstructive sleep apnea are dental appliances, CPAP machines, and surgery. Sleep apnea caused due to increase of obstacle or hindrance in the nasal passage which may lead to interrupted breathing during sleep. Sometimes weight loss can help , but not always. I will recommend you to use Asonor nasal spay to rid from sleep apnea and all your sleep disorder.

SOURCE: American sleep union-has a product that says it will help with snoring or sleep apnea-is it a scam or real

It might work fine for you. Snoring occurs when a person's airway closes and air has to be forced through their throat similar to one of those air pillow gags that you blow up and put under someone's seat cushion that make an embarrassing noise when you sit on it.
If you can keep your airway open like it is when you are awake, then there will be no snoring.
One of the instructions for giving CPR to a person who isn't breathing used to be to lay them on their back and put your fingers behind their jaw and pull forward to open the throat before giving mouth-to-mouth breathing. Pulling the jaw forward is pretty much what this apparatus does, but it works from inside a person's mouth instead of outside like the CPR instruction.
Of course, you DO have to be able to fall asleep with this contraption in your mouth. It won't work if it's uncomfortable and you can't fall sleep.
Another option is losing weight. Added weight doesn't just pile up on the outside, it affects the soft tissues in your throat too and can interfere with breathing when you aren't consciously holding your throat open.
There's even a plastic surgery procedure that lasers flesh off the back of your tongue in your throat. That would certainly be a last resort.

The appliance hurt my jaw and did not work for my sleep apnea. When I returned the product I had it in the mail by the two weeks, but it didn't get to the office in time. So they charged me another 59.99 and will not refund it. They have been rude and uncooperative. I would not recommend this for anyone.

My nose keeps getting congested . I have the pillow maskAir curve10.

Hello, Joan -

Clarificaton: You are asking about the pillow mask for your AirCurve 10 CPAP machine and are wondering why your nose still is congested?

The AirCurve 10 is manufactured by ResMed. One of the support pages on the ResMed website (homepage: https://www.resmed.com/us/en/consumer.html
has some Frequently Asked Questions on getting used to your machine:
https://www.resmed.com/us/en/consumer/support/devices/getting-used-to-your-device.html

From that web page:
[Quote]

I'm experiencing a dry throat or nasal congestion while using my device. What are my options?

A. Try using a humidifier. Using a PAP machine or other sleep apnea therapy device can sometimes lead to drying and congestion of the throat, nose, and mouth because the airflow generated by the machine is often greater than what your body is accustomed to humidifying on its own. Humidifiers and heated tubes can increase the amount of humidity in the "inspired air" (the air which surrounds you before you inhale it) and may help counteract these symptoms and help make therapy more comfortable.
Talk to your healthcare professional about a nasal decongestant. Nasal allergies and congestion may result in "mouth breathing"' during the night, which dries the throat and mouth and can negatively affect your sleep apnea therapy. Talk to your doctor to find out if using a nasal decongestant or antihistamine may help alleviate this issue.
Talk to your doctor or equipment supplier about chinstraps. Sometimes, during sleep apnea treatment, people unknowingly open their mouths during the night, resulting in a dry throat and mouth. Using a chinstrap may help keep your mouth closed while you sleep.
Talk to your doctor about switching to a full face mask. Chronic nasal allergies or other nasal problems such as a deviated septum can make breathing through your nose difficult. A full face mask, which lets you breathe through your mouth during the night, could be the answer.
[End quote]

Of course you have to make sure the mask and other parts for the machine are scrupulously cleaned on a regular basis, following the user manual.

Best wishes.

I went to my doctor to complain about my snoring and he said he thinks I may have OSAS. What exactly is that?

OSAS stands for obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. This is a condition where you stop breathing during sleep for more than 10 seconds, more than 5 times an hour. Snoring can sometimes be an indication of OSAS which is potentially dangerous, so it's important that your doctor follows up with some tests.
