Should I upgrade my iphone 4 to 5? - iPhone Apple Cell Phones

iPhone 4 is not eligible for an upgrade to iOS 8 due to Apple's restrictions. Only the 4S and up are eligible.

You're orientation lock is on. Slide your finger from the bottom up and you will see a little circle with an arrow. That should open it back up for you.

There are two ways to upgrade the iOS version of your iPhone with connecting the device to iTunes on a computer
- or directly from within the iPhone, but only snce iOS 5, it is possible to upgrade the iOS version without the need to connect the iOS device to a computer (over-the-air update)
just go to: settings - general - software update

All you have to do is connect your iphone to a computer with itunes installed. After that it will notify you that you have outdated software and need to upgrade. You won't be upgraded to ios 6 as it is not at 7.0.4.

If your problem concerns your iPhone 3GS (your cellphone), then no, you cannot upgrade it to IOS 7. IOS7 requires an iPhone 4 or newer (4, 4S, 5, 5C, 5S).
