These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. This is a difficult question to answer completely. 7 blinks indicates that one of the C boads has failed. however, there are several an SC,SD, SS and SU.
The procedure is to disconnect each of there boards until the blinking is eliminated. The labor charge is usually around 200.00 and the cost of whichever board is bad. Hope this helps.

Usually seven blinks indicates a Y sustain problem. Its either the Y sustain pcb and/or the buffer boards. I would highly recommend calling an authorized service center for this if you don't know what you are doing.
