How do i fix a throttle that don't control the engine speed?

Well first off is this is a newer vehicle the throttle is electronically controlled, if the vehicle is older then there is a throttle cable. One requires a scan tool, the other inspect for a broken throttle cable. Without specific vehicle year, make, model and engine type any other advice is lacking.

My 1998 200sx stopped accelerating while getting on freeway.

Could be the cable that actavates the throttle plate on the intake..
The cable comes from the gas pedel and pulls on the throttle plane in the intake manifold.. opening the plate to let air flow through to the engine. On the other side from the cable is a plastic sensor with wires attached to it this is the Throttle position sensor.. if this is disconnected or broken the computer cannot receive the single that you are pushing on the gas pedel.. very rare for the throttle position sensor to break completly.. best posibility broken cable.. open hood find cable connected to throttle body, have someone in car push pedel see if it moves. Good luck.

2002 ford taurus gas pedal goes to the floor and getting no acceleration. the pedal itself is loose and won't retract into the up position.

The spring or wire that connects your pedal to the throttle body may broken or damaged. Check under your hood and look at the throttle body (it's the carburetor looking thing). There should be a steel wire connected to it coming from the back of the engine bay. It should connect on the side where you'll see a few springs. If nothing looks broken there, turn the part of the throttle body connected to the spring and wire. If it revs up when you move it, then the cable could be broken somewhere between there and the gas pedal.

Alternatively, the linkage on the pedal could have been disconnected some how. Check behind and above the gas pedal to see if eveything is connected properly.

2000 gmc jimmy throttle cable is broken how do I fix it?

The only fix is to replace cable. Fairly easy, there are plastic "tangs" that need to be depressed at the firewall. This will release the cable so it can be pulled through. Follow the cable thru to the pedal. It is just a matter of disengaging at the pedal and at the throttle body connectors. Pay close attention to the cable routing, as incorrect install can be detrimental to operation!

The throttle cable on my moms van is broken. Please help

the throttle cable is a fairly simple fix since it entails just removing the broken one and installing the new unbroken one. the hardest part will be getting to the darn thing. you will have to remove alot of the breather assembly and possibly the engine doghouse inside the van. but once your there it should be a snap. good luck.
