Printing on a continous teffeta label using zebra S4M zpl printer

Only Zebra printers use and print ZPL. ZPL =Zebra Programming Language. Other printers cannot intrepret ZPL.

the language from your printers is EPL and the zebra S4m come from factory with ZPL language program, you need to install diferent firmware to the printer,

download the firmware, go to the driver and "send file" and send the file *.zpl to the printer.

You would have to look at the Zebra programming language(ZPL) being sent to the printer. Are you writing your own code or using a labeling software package ? The printer driver will convert to ZPL if using a labeling software package. You didn't say if the two printers are connected to the same PC or two PC's. Check your formats if two PC's. Something else is going on if both printers are connected to the same PC.

The printer file is recorded in flash memory? The printer have EPL or ZPL firmware? Using ZBI may be a better solution, developed an application that stays in the printer memory and allows many uses.

You can generate the ZPL code in a text file and send it to a generic printer connected to USB.

have you try printing with selected pages ? put the range from first page to the last. Ex: 1 - 10

The fact that the Data message is displayed, means it is 'seeing' something. You may be losing the command character at the beginning that would cause the machine to ignore the rest of your code. If this is the first time you have attempted to use the serial port, you may have a setting incorrectly set. You need to match your Host exactly or the data may be framed incorrectly. The old standard was to send your data 8 bits, 1 stop-bit and no parity. Try Xon-Xoff with hardware handshaking too. I hope this helps.

The S4M comes with either EPL or ZPL programming language installed. (installed at factory) The S600 is a ZPL only printer. Check that you have correctly specified the S4M as a ZPL printer. Print a config label to check. If it is set as an EPL printer contact your supplier and ask him to download the correct programming language. It should only take a competent engineer about ten minutes (If he knows what he is doing)

zebra s4m barcode printer ,suppose if i print 10 Labels only 2 Label come out balance 8 in memory .then printer comes pause, disply showing paper out /ribbon in/please help me....

i have the same problem , but my printer is ZEBRA S4M ZPL

my solution is:

in your barcode software: change printer settings: 1 and 2

1 . in media setting : change media type --> Thermal transfer
2. in documents options , configuration --> use printer settings
