Running OFW 5.51 and have Start & Home button problems.
Hello, I have a PSP 2000 and am running OFW 5.51. Just today my start button quit working. Also, whenever the "Home" button is pressed, if the XMB is showing, the screen goes blank and becomes unresponsive. (The green power light remains on.) If I am in a game and I press the "Home" button, the Home screen is displayed but I can't move to "Yes". If I try to, the screen goes blank like before. All other buttons work at the moment, I think, and whenever I slide the switch from "Hold" back to the middle, the PSP works as it should until I press "Home" again.

PSP Custom Firmware 6.35 PRO-B4 has been release by Virtousflame (a.k.a liquidzigong) and coldbird. The latest release includes a few bugs fixes for better stability and compatibility for all model PSP System (PSP 1000, 2000, 3000 and PSP GO - N-Series) .
This CFw has works on Sony firmware (OFw) 6.35 to lets users play backup UMD's - ISO games, so if you're already on OFw 6.35, you can either use this, If it doesn't, you will need to update your PSP firmware to 6.35.
Required :
PSP-300x or PSP-200x TA-088v3 or PSP GO has Sony Firmware '6.35' installed. other firmware is not supported. If you don't have PSP 6.35 installed, you need to update it.
Version check: On the PSP Menu (also known as XMB= Xross Media Bar), and goto 'Settings Menu' >> 'System Settings' >> 'System Information' and you should see firmware version of your PSP.

your psp version needs to modify to run iso format of psp games.. that version was made to run game through UMD only. theres way to make your PSP run iso games

try using a ChickHen installer software from PC aside from running it from your PSP. Running ChickHen in PSP slim 3000 series may take several attempts. If you successfully run ChickHen, turning your PSP off (by long pressing the power switch) will revert your PSP to OFW and you need to run ChickHen again, that's why standby is always preferable for these PSP versions. CFW in these versions are considered SemiHa*k and, as said, turning PSP off will revert to OFW.

Is your PSP bricked now? Also, is your motherboard a TA085V1, TA085V2, or TA088V1? All these motherboards are hackable, but the later released boards (TA088V2 and above) cannot be hacked. Were you running a CFW before or is this your first try? What was your OFW? If you are on version OFW3.80 (lesser than 5.00), get OFW 5.03 and run ChickHEN. Through ChickHEN you can try installing CFW. Hope this helps!
did you have cfw (custom firm ware) on your psp that allowed you to play downloaded games from other sites other than psn. if so what you did was to overwrite the cfw and installed the ofw (official firm ware). sony releases ofw to cut down on piracy. so if this is your case you may want to look on youtube on "psp cfw" there are alot of videos on it and it should get you up and running again. if you ever get cfw installed on your psp again DO NOT UPGRADE WITH SONY OFFICIAL FIRM WARE OR YOU'LL HAVE TO REDO THE CFW

Firstly, you CANNOT do this unless you hava a PSP with Version =<5.03 . To check your PSP FW go to Settings-> SystemSettings-> System Information . If the version is 5.03 , skip thispart and follow the guide below to install ChickHEN . If you have alower version follow this GUIDE in order to install OFW 5.03 .
-Download 5.03 OFW (http://135ff34d.seriousfiles.com) -Connect your PSP to your PC via USB and create a folder in PSP/GAME named UPDATE. -Copy the .EBOOT file in PSP/GAME/UPDATE. -Run the update from your PSP . Now you should have a 5.03 OFW PSP , just what you need in order to load the Tiff Exploit.

Some useful tips for those who can't get the ChickHEN to work :
-Restore Default Settings -Set UMD Auto Start and Cache OFF. -Make sure you're on 5.03 OFW -Format Memory Stick. ( this will erase all the data from your MSso you'd better backup your files on your PC before doing it )

Note that the files needed for PSP 2000 and 3000 series are different than the ones needed for PSP 1000 so don't screw it up.

-Copy h.bin to the Memory Stick ROOT . -Copy ChickHEN folder to PSP/PHOTO ( create one if needed ) -Navigate to your PHOTOS folder , and enter the ChickHEN folder.And wait, you will see some images, these will start to loadthumbnails.Go all the way down to the last image. Your PSP may freezeand reset. Just keep retrying and ChickHEN R2 will load up….But if yousee flashing colors, your PSP will reboot loading the ChickHEN.
For those who can't load the ChickHEN files check above for useful tips and remember to restore default settings.
Check your PSP's version to make sure. If the version is somethinglike 5.03 ChickHEN R2 you should be fine and ready to install CFW.
2)INSTALLING CUSTOM FIRMWARE
Do NOT try this on any PSP 3000 or PSP 2000 unhackable mobo's this is only for PSP Phat and 2000 hackable series. This will permanently install CFW onto your PSP ChickHEN must be enabled.
-Download Recovery Flasher 1.60 (http://926291d9.thesefiles.com) -Download 5.0 OFW (http://a3b04c08.thesefiles.com) -direct download -Copy the Recovery folder to PSP/GAME . -Also copy the 5.0 official update renamed as 500.pbp to PSP/GAME/RECOVERY folder . -Go to GAME and run the program and install 5.0 M33-6 !
In the end , press SELECT while in XMB and change UMD Iso Mode to''M33 Driver'' or ''Sony NP9660''. I also recommend formatting memorystick. Place your CSO/ISO games to the ISO folder on your memory stickroot.
